Hungarian Braided White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
I make this every easter and sometimes for other special occasions that a beautiful, tasty bread is needed. I LOVE this bread although I do cover the pan with aluminum foil (for all but the last 15 mins) and I don't bake it for quite as long as it calls for, in order to keep it from getting quite so crunchy on the outside. This is my favorite of all the breads I make, just a little more time consuming.

Aunt Anne's Sesame Cookies

These cookies are amazing! I have made them 3 times already and I could have easily eaten the whole batch myself if my kids hadn't tried to take handfuls at a time.

Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
I made this for a cook out and it easily made 2 good sized cheese balls from the amount called for in the recipe. It turned out amazing! I am glad I read some of the other reviews and used a cheesecloth to get ALL of the juice out of the pineapple since it was a little softer than I am used to even with doing that. All in all though, a great flavor and texture.

Grandpa Gunn's Raw Veggie Dip

I made this for a baby shower and it got rave reviews from all of the ladies (almost as much as the melon baby carriage). I will definetly be making this again for my next get-together.

Cinnamon Rolls III

I made these for a company picnic and it has now become what I am asked to make for every picnic I go to. They are delicious and I make them often and have never been disappointed.

Cabbage Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This turned out as a hit in my house, even with my big picky eater, my husband. He originally said he wasn't going to even try them but was very suprised by them. I could not find the dough in our local commissary but just made a batch of wheat bread dough and used that. filling them did have a learning curve and half of mine turned out with twice as much bread as filling but still tasted great. The filling was a little bland but I will be trying some other add ins when I have the time to make this again.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This is easily my second favorite bread recipe. It never dissapoints me and although some people find it too sweet, I really like the sweetness it has, but if I am making it for sandwich bread I just omit most of the sugar and it turns out just as great.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
I halved this recipe because it seemed like alot but when my family devoured it all in one sitting I wished I had made the whole batch. I did cook the chicken in the soup (I didn't have the time to do it first and for chicken soup you don't need to). This has quickly become a family favorite.

Cheesecake Praline Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This turned out GREAT. I have made this once and although it was very rich, that didn't stop it from disappearing. I did cut the crust ingredients in half and it was still quite thick but would make it that way again.

Ginny's Cheezy Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This went over great with my brood, even with the pickiest one of all, my husband. It turned out great and it was quick to put together which was definetly a plus with 3 kids under 6 and a husband who works 12+ hr days. Next time i might try putting some cracker crumbs and seasonings on top with about 15 mins left to bake to give it some more flavor. Being just a little on the bland side is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars.

Royal Icing II

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
This icing worked well, even as my first attempt at anything other than buttercream icing. It almost worked too well though. I made this for a bunch of 5-7 yr olds to use as "glue" for graham cracker and candy castles at my daughter's princess party. The castles worked out great and we had some elaborate castles and towers, the only downside of using it like this was that after the castles dried it was nearly impossible to eat them without feeling like you were going to break a tooth.

These were good, but not the greatest. I thought they were a little dry, but still 4 star good.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
Love this recipe with spaghetti sauce instead of tomato soup and wish it didn't take so long to make but it would have been super bland with only the tomato soup. The sauce gave it just the right amount of flavor.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2013
We have made this our Saturday breakfast staple since finding this recipe. I have had to double this recipe for my family of 5, my husband and kids like them so much. I did double the blueberries and have needed to add the extra 1/4 cup of milk every time. I use a white whole wheat flour (king Arthur flour) and regular granulated sugar instead of artificial sweetener since I never have the artificial stuff on hand. On another note, if you use frozen blueberries, it cooks better if you thaw and drain them before putting them in the batter.
