Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2013
One of my new favorites! I roasted the squash in the oven at 400 for about 30 minutes and then added it to the other ingredients in the crock pot and cooked it for about 2 hours...PERFECT!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
For someone who isn't a huge chili eater, I was a little skeptical...but, it was really good! The only thing I might change next time is the use of less chili powder. I left out the beer but followed everything else to the 't'. Good chili and lots of good reviews from my guests.

Fried Corn with Bacon

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Delicious! I modified the recipe a bit: sliced bacon instead of crumbled, used diced onion, about 2 cloves garlic, orange pepper instead of green, salt and pepper and frozen corn. It was simple to make and awesome with our ribs!

Bacon Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
Delicious! I used pancetta (about 5 ounces) instead of bacon, and threw in a handful of chopped mushrooms. It was a great one dish wonder that will definitely show up on the menu again!

Stephanie's Freezer Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2012
A bit bland for our taste...I added a couple of partial jars of sauce I had in the fridge...and added some black pepper, cayanne, salt and garlic powder to spice it up a bit. Puree'd in the blender after slow cooking. Delicious!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
These are delicious! I made 18 servings so I could freeze what we didn't eat. I doubled the vanilla and sugar and it made a big difference. I also used half whole wheat flour and half all purpose flour. My husband, who claims to not like wheat bread, loved them!

Delicious and so easy! I omit the cranberries but throw in sunflower seeds or walnuts. The whole house gobbles them up!

Cinnamon Sugar Crisps

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
These are so simple and so yummy! I had lots of wontons so I simply melted butter in a small bowl and used a baster to brush each one. Also, put cinnamon and sugar in a plastic container with a lid and shook it to mix the two...then just sprinkled over the buttered wontons (no measuring). They were great! Quick and easy treat!

Scott's Buffalo Wing Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
SOO easy! For the wings, I rinsed and dried them with paper towels. Using a simple mixture of all-purpose flour, salt, pepper and cayanne pepper, I dredged the chicken in the flour mixture then set on a wire rack that I placed on top of a cookie sheet. This way the juices didn't cause the chicken to turn out soggy. Baked the chicken at 400 for about 45 minutes (flipping halfway)...they were perfectly crispy!!! We poured the sauce over the cooked wings and...YUMMMM!!!! They disappeared within minutes!

Classic Fried Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
This was a great, quick recipe. I changed a couple things...used diced ham instead of bacon and the rice was hot as I didn't have time to cool it. Nevertheless, it was great and everyone enjoyed it!

These were a hit! I followed the recipe but left out the ginger. YUMMMMMM! For my hard-to-please family of 6, only one said they were "awkward"...everyone else pigged out!
