About this Cook
Traditional family upbringing awarded me the gift of baking. Grandmother was a professional baker of deserts. This brought me to my love of foods. I learned from observing my friends parents and grandparents as to the traditional aspects of Hispanic and Italian cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking traditional Hispanic foods and am proud to say I make my own tortillas both corn and flour! I also learned quite a bit of my Italian recipies from my neighbor Madeline Raymond, who is a fabulous Italian cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Who doesn't like Thanksgiving! The smells of the Turkey (we cook 3, fried, roasted, and smoked) stuffing and fresh cranberry sauce. And I make the lightest pumpkin pie and sky high Chocolate cream pie!
My cooking triumphs
I am a self taught cook. I taught myself how to bake yeast breads and I make my own puff pastry too!
My cooking tragedies
Oh you know the one where you mix up salt for sugar and vice a versa?!

Rach's Broccoli Casserole
Its Easy and very tasty. I use different types of cheese such as Swiss and omit the butter all together.

Chicken Oreganato
I felt that it needed a bit more of the citrus tang, so I used the zest of one lemon, and increased the lemons to the juice of two lemons. I also garnished the thighs with a thin slice of lemon on each. Very refreshing and the lemon slice cooks into the skin. I love this recipe and its a weekly favorite!
