Taco Treat

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2004
I added a few less jalapenos and also about 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese. I also increased the olives. Still I will rate this recipe high even though I made some changes because the basic flavors are just super! Oh yes, I also used sundried tomato tortillas which made a more festive appearance and melded well with the flavors in the spread.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Good and very easy to make. I used cream of chicken soup but mushroom would be good too I think. I mixed noodles with sauce before baking. Great use for leftover turkey.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
If you like your carrot cake fully loaded, dense, & rich then you will like this one. I baked it in a 9x13 pan for about 40 min resulting in something more like bars than cake. Tasted great with a cream cheese frosting.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
In one word, Fabulous! I took the advice of several others and used 1 1/2 c. oreo crumbs (removed filling). Also I baked in water bath. I used 6 Tbs of red raspberry pie filling which I thinned with a bit of water. It pays to read the reviews and follow advice of others with this recipe. Best cheesecake I ever made.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Fabulous, just the brownie I have been searching for. I did use half brown and half white sugar as suggested by other reviewers and it was great. They are a little chewy and very tasty.

Supreme Apple Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
I did the whole operation in crock pot over 2 day time period. Day 1 cooked apples down for several hours then shut off crock pot overnight. Next day put everything through blender, added sugar and spices and cooked with lid off, stirring often to help it thicken up. Yield was 4 1/2 cups of the best apple butter I have ever made.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
I cooked this on low since I was gone more than 8 hours then turned it up on high when I got home so the final mix was soupy but absolutely wonderful. This would make a good bean soup or if thickened further as it was intended, serve as a side of refried beans. Love it!Love it! Love it!

Wedding pasta salad

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
Everyone at the wedding loved this. I liked it because I could make it a day ahead which actually improved the flavor. I made 8 double batches. Had 150 guests and had 4-5 batches left over ( about 2 double batches ). I think one batch could serve 15-18 people. Cooked pasta 10 min. When I doubled the batch the only thing I changed was the salt. Instead of 4 tsp of salt I used 3 tsp. and it was just fine.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Excellent, very rich and tasty. I mixed sugar, cinnamon and butter together before spreading on dough as suggested by others. I did not get the gooey cinnamon mixture that others described. When I flipped the rolls over there was no "goo". Also I forgot to add the butter to the dough. Didn't seem to have a negative effect at all. Loved it and will definitely make it again.

Monster Cookies VI

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
Have made other Monster Cookie recipes but so far this one I like the best. I followed suggestions of others by using a large scoop and patting dough down a bit before baking. Using an icecream scoop I got 18 big fat yummy cookies, moist and yummy. Next time I might try adding butterscotch chips and or coconut.

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
Be sure to use the right size pan. Mine was a little too large and the eggs weren't perfectly round because the water did not completely cover the eggs. Otherwise, yes, these were perfect!

Spicy Mock Apple Rings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
I make lots of pickles and this is a favorite among those who love cinnamon flavoring. I use very large cucumbers which I first peel and scrape seeds out of then cut up into sticks. They fit in the jar easier. I sometimes add a drop or two of cinnamon oil to the syrup for more cinnamon flavor. This recipe is often made with sliced cucumbers where seeds are cut from center to form a ring. These are known also as Wedding Ring Pickles. Most people are surprised they are made from cucumbers, they seem more like apples.
