Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Excellent light flavorful soup that can be refrigerated and used all week. Of course I added my own flavors like black pepper and 2 cloves of garlic.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Fabulous, just the brownie I have been searching for. I did use half brown and half white sugar as suggested by other reviewers and it was great. They are a little chewy and very tasty.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
In one word, Fabulous! I took the advice of several others and used 1 1/2 c. oreo crumbs (removed filling). Also I baked in water bath. I used 6 Tbs of red raspberry pie filling which I thinned with a bit of water. It pays to read the reviews and follow advice of others with this recipe. Best cheesecake I ever made.

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I use a mixture of butterscotch chips along with the chocolate chips. Have been making these for many years.Very rich and always a hit. A friend recently tried one claiming he didn't like coconut. Now he wants a whole pan of these for himself.

Chocolate Torte

Nice light cake but I'm looking for something with stronger flavor, especially in the cream filling. This was a little flat for me.

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Not like the tiramisu flavor I have experienced. Was more like Kahlua flavor. I did use kahlua for the coffee liquer ingredient which I think imparted a flavor too strong for this recipe. Used lady fingers for crust but I think I like graham crust for cheesecake.

Chocolate Bavarian Torte

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
The flavor for this was a little flat for me. Maybe if I had used a dark chocolate cake mix instead of devils food flavor it would have been better. I served with chocolate syrup and raspberry syrup which really improved the flavor. Very easy to make and that is a plus.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2006
This recipe was excellent and a real time saver when you are cooking for a lot of people. I used garlic salt instead of onion and added some minced onions. Also I added bacon bits and some cheddar cheese. It was just what I was looking for.

Lemon Jelly Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2006
I almost ruined this recipe. After placing the pan on the stove I soon realized that it should be cooked in a double boiler! OK. My lemons were large and I ended up with a total of 1 cup of lemon juice. Because of that, it did not thicken up like I thought it should. I wanted it thick so I could spread it on a cake so I added about a 1Tb of cornstarch stirred in with a little hot water to thicken it up. Still it wasn't quite as thick as I thought it should be. However it tasted great, just what I was looking for. This is how I used it. I made a "poke" cake where you pour lemon jello mix over the cake which has had holes poked in it. I then spread this lemon filling over the top of the cake. Then I topped it with Cool Whip. It tasted great, very lemony and tart like we wanted. It would be nice to know how much lemon juice is needed since all lemons are not created equal in size! Once I know what the optimum amount of juice is the recipe will be perfect. 5 star rating for taste.

New York Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
I followed many of the tips given by other users like baking at 350 deg., adding vanilla and adding 1/4 c sugar to make it sweeter. The cheese cake was perfect except where is the flavor in this cheesecake??? I topped it with cherries and that helped but this otherwide perfect cheesecake lacks flavor. I would love to try it again but somehow jazz up the flavor.

Easy Turkey Tetrazzini

Good and very easy to make. I used cream of chicken soup but mushroom would be good too I think. I mixed noodles with sauce before baking. Great use for leftover turkey.

Amazing Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2005
I followed the recipe but started with frozen ribs so the ribs did not get as tender as I would have liked them to be. Next time I would thaw them. Otherwise this was my first attempt at ribs and I think it is a very good technique to get the best ribs.

Taco Treat

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2004
I added a few less jalapenos and also about 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese. I also increased the olives. Still I will rate this recipe high even though I made some changes because the basic flavors are just super! Oh yes, I also used sundried tomato tortillas which made a more festive appearance and melded well with the flavors in the spread.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was my first attempt at scones. It is everything I expected! I did underbake them a bit even though I went the full 15 minutes but I can adjust that next time. I divided dough into two bowls so I could try different flavors. It was easy and I will definitely use this recipe again.
