Sangria Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
So moist and juicy when it comes out of the oven! We used about twice the liquid called for, as our first attempt left us with a burned ham. :( Our roasting pan is rather large, so we increased the liquid on our second attempt and the result was amazing - even my picky 5 year old ate every last bite and is looking forward to leftovers! Thanks for the great recipe, this is our new favorite way to cook ham!

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Sorry, these just did not work for me. I really wanted to like them, but they were very bland and stuck in my muffing pan. I feel as though I wasted a number of ingredients, and will not be making again.

Baked Sweet Potatoes with Ginger and Honey

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
Pretty good dish, and I found the cooking times to be pretty accurate. I did cover the dish for the first 20 min. and had just the right caramelized, syrupy consistency in the bottom of the dish (I used a 9x13 glass baking dish) when it was finished. Definitely way too much ginger for me. I cut it down to 1 1/2 T. and that was still too much, so next time I will try just 1 T. I would also add some salt, as I felt it could have used some. Otherwise pretty good, thanks!

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

We can't get enough of these rolls in our house!!! So very easy, and so versatile! Large rolls for sandwiches, smaller rolls as a side for dinner, and so yummy. Thanks so much!

Sausage Potato Medley

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
A new favorite in our house! I didn't bother boiling the potatoes, I just sliced them thin and layered them in the bottom of the pan, scallop style. I used kielbasa as that was what I had on hand (turkey once and chicken the second time), and my hubby LOVED the dinner! Thanks so much for the super easy dish that we all love and will make many times over!

Pudding Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
The flavor was good for me, but not chocolatey enough for my hubby. I also had some weird lumps in my finished product, which I'm sure was the cornstarch. Next time I might try mixing the cornstarch with the water really well, and then adding the remaining ingredients. Thanks for the recipe, it was just about perfect for me!

Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
The beef came out so tender and juicy, even my extra picky 4 year old ate it! I put baby carrots, whole, and the bite sized onion pieces in the bottom of my 6 qt. slow cooker and then tossed about 8 (whole) red potatoes on top of those. I poured in 4 cups of beef broth, because I had it on hand and needed to use it up, and then added the beef brisket w/spice packet. I skipped the beer as I never have any on hand and cooked everything on low for 8 hours, stirring in the cabbage during the last hour. Next time I would try 6/7 hours on low and only cook the cabbage 30 min. as the veggies were a little softer than I like. Thanks for the great recipe, we won't be waiting for next St. Patty's day to try this one again! :)

Nana Dot's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Really good fresh out of the oven. I didn't have caraway seed and subbed raisins for the currants since my hubby doesn't care for currants. I added a 1/2 tsp. of sweet dough flavoring just to see what kind of an effect it would have but would leave it out next time. Overall a great addition to our St. Patty's day meal, thanks!

Thank you for posting this recipe! My mom made this all the time when I was little and I loved it. She no longer cooks and couldn't remember how to make it, so thanks for allowing me to share it with my children!!

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Followed the suggestions to up the veggies, used 1 cup peas, and 1/2 cup each of celery and carrots. Would add a little more cornstarch next time, as it turned out a little too soupy for my taste. Also followed the suggestion to bake at 375 for 30 min. - came out perfectly golden brown on top! Will def. make again, with a little tweaking to suit our own personal tastes. Thanks for the great recipe, Chris! :)

Great quick and easy dinner. Served it with a salad and some good crusty bread, very filling. This one will most likely be made again on a cold winter night. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
Delicious! I took this to a get together where I knew children with food allergies would be, so I subbed bananas and applesauce for the eggs and butter, and didn't have cranberries so I used raisins. It was so good I came home with an empty dish! Will definitely be making this again and again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Roasted Corn and Basmati Rice Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
I was excited to try this after all of the great reviews I read, but it just didn't work for us. I followed the recipe as written, but it was way too tart, and it made quite a bit more than 8 servings. My husband couldn't finish his and I'm not looking forward to eating the leftovers, but I hate to throw away all that food after all of the time and effort put into it. Sadly, I won't be making this again.

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
So I just made this this morning as I have an event this afternoon that I have to bring a dessert to. Haven't tasted it yet, but how easy and simple to prepare! I followed the instructions exactly and so far it loooks great and smells heavenly! I'll add to my review after we dig in and give it a taste...UPDATE: Delicious! A hit with everyone who tried it, though the blackberries were a little tart. Otherwise a quick and easy dessert to take with me. Will be making this one again soon!
