Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

These are ridiculously good and perfect just the way the recipe states. No modifications/no changes. Best Snickerdoodle I've ever eaten. Thanks, Beth!

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I used the most common suggestions... 1/2 recipe, change corn syrup for brown sugar, 1c honey same butter. I combined and melted it in a small saucepan... I used a spiral sliced ham and took it out of the fridge a couple of hours before cooking. Then, I cooked my 8lb ham in the oven on 350 for 1 1/2 hours and basted the ham every 10 minutes. It was unbelievably delicious!

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I used my own chocolate chip cookie recipe, substituted brandy for vanilla and added cranberries and white chocolate chips. It's a really nice twist on a chocolate chip cookie! Next time I will crush macademia nuts and I am sure it will be even better!

Delicious! The nice thing about them is you can make them as sweet as you like. My daughter loved them... I make them with a little whipped cream.

Goat Cheese Stuffed Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This recipe is an excellent starter recipe. I stuck to the letter of the recipe and my husband and I both liked it a lot. (my tomatoes were kind of small so the amount of stuffing was perfect) We both felt that something was missing in the flavor of the stuffing... It was very tasty, but a little bland. I am thinking of chopping up some sundried tomatoes next time and adding it to the mixture along with a little extra salt and pepper. I will definitely be making this one, again, though!

Spaetzle and Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Excellent! My family stuffed themselves. I added string beans to get in some extra veggies for my family, but aside from that the only changes I made were additional spices. I used 3 bone-in chicken breasts and my spaetzle required 4 cups of flour. They were sticky as I dropped them in the soup, but they came out excellent! My first spaetzle attempt and my family was impressed.

These are simply the best. Don't be discouraged by it's lumpy texture before cooking.

Curried Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
First time I've made this and it's excellent! I used 1/3 more curry than called for and next time will use even more. I also used Basmati rice. Left out the golden raisins... didn't think my family would be into it. Excellent recipe, though! I'll be saving it, for sure!

Easy Olive Oil, Tomato, and Basil Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This really hit the spot! This is an awesome EASY vegan recipe. I made these modifications...mixed tomato, 4 garlic cloves minced, chopped basil and olive oil 2 hours in advance and let it sit out to room temperature, sauted a chopped onion in olive oil until soft. Added the tomato mixture to the onion for about 2 minutes just to warm it. Tossed with pasta and 1/2 small can of diced olives (like the picture). Salt, pepper, done! It was delicious!

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

So easy... so good! I took some other reviewers advice and made a little gravy using chicken broth and instant flour with the pan drippings and I think that really made the dish. I will certainly make this one again and again!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I loved this! It reminds me of a quiche but without the bread. I used low-fat and fat-free ingredients and it still came out great. It's SO easy, too! I had also thought that bacon or even cubed ham might be a good addition next time.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Very easy and totally delicious! I made 24 large mushrooms from 1 batch of filling, so I tried it 2 different ways. It's much better in a convection oven. The cheese on the top of the mushrooms brown like the image on the recipe.

Quick and Easy Brownies

As recommended, I used 1/2c less flour. I also added about 1/2c of chocolate chips and I really think that made them even yummier! I tried Alton Brown's recipe for brownies and I liked these MUCH better! Thanks!

Creamy Split Pea Soup

Excellent! I added a little garlic, as some of the other reviewers recommened and added a teaspoon and a half more salt. I also used a hand blender which worked wonderfully and was so much easier. Great, easy recipe. The crumbled bacon garnish adds such a nice touch!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I have read many reviews and my first change was I made this a "Pressure Cooker Stroganoff", rather than a "Slow Cooker". I used double the meat and double the gravy ingredients... this was my only mistake. There was too much gravy. I also didn't have mushrooms, but will add them next time. That will be my only other modification to what I had done already. I coated the meat in flour and browned it in a separate pot. At the same time, I sweat the onions in the pressure cooker. I used a boullion cube and an entire package of onion soup mix. I added garlic, worstechire and pepper, but no salt because the onion soup, worstechire and boullion have plenty. I added the browned meat to the gravy mixture and heat the pressure cooker on high until full pressure and then turned it down low for 60 minutes. The meat just fell apart in your mouth. Delicious! Thank you for this fantastic recipe!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This is one of my favs! I've made it a bunch of times. Side dish recipes get no easier than this. Because the asparagus cooks in just the cooking spray, they come out nice and crispy every time!
