Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
Followed the recipe exactly and it came out perfect! It was wonderful !!! I did however use deli sliced ham and wrapped the cheese up in it so it would not melt out during cooking. See my photo's - Yummy !!! I will definately be making this again and again. Note: Do NOT sub half and half for heavy whipping cream. You will also want to double the sauce - because it is soooo good - Thank you for sharing your recipe

Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
What a great recipe - The meat fell apart it was so tender and the gravy was delicious. I doubled the recipe for mushroom soup - 2 cans and 1 cup water (Not onion soup mix)and added a stalk of chopped celery and sliced fresh mushrooms. Also instead of water you can add 1 can of LOW Sodium beef broth. Cooked it on high for 5 hours, adding the carrots(small bag of baby carrots) and potatoes for the last 2 hours. I made fresh bread to suck up the gravy. YUMMY!!!.Thank you for sharing this recipe Katy. I just want to add that I smushed my potatoes before taking the photo - I was so hungry from the smell I almost forgot to take the photo.

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
The first time I tried this - I did it on the grill. I have a very small grill and did not realize it should be covered. I could not do it on my grill because I could not close the lid - The chicken was too tall and well it never cooked. Now I make Beer Butt Chicken in the oven. I put it in my roasing pan, Bake it for 1 1/2 - 2 hours at 350 (don't need to cover it) lol. I also Put in some Potatoes (huge bakers) at the same time (Not in the roasting pan - on the oven rack). I use a funnel to add the butter and spices to the beer in the can. It is better to use warm beer - because when adding melted butter to cold beer it foams up. I bought the can holder for beer butt chicken - It makes it stand up alot easier and stays in place when you Take it out to transport it to the cutting board. YUMM !!! The chicken is browned to perfection and So tender the meat just falls off the bone. It is Awesome!!!! Thankyou so much for the recipe.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Excellent recipe !! very good flavor - I did change 2 things - I used 2 cans of cream of chicken & mushroom soup because that is what I had on hand and I also added extra shredded cheese. This was even better the second time. I reheated what was left over in the oven at 350 uncovered. The top was nicely browned and slightly crunchy, potatoes moist, and the flavor was oh so awesome. Love this recipe - Thank you for sharing !!!

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: May 13, 2005
This ia a Great recipe. It is so simple. I cut up Round steak (extra). I simmered the Round steak with chopped up onions. I added extra cream of mushroom soup (2 cans) because the last time I made it I ended up covering it half way through cooking. Also it made more to go with the 16oz bag of noodles I cooked. I used a can of milk instead of water and added sliced fresh mushrooms rather then canned. Served it with biscuits. My husband Loved it. YUMMY !!! Next time I make it it will be half the onion soup mix (Onion soup mix is very salty) Thank you for sharing .

Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
What a great way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers.I did not use shredded carrots and I put extra gravy with the turkey (heinz roasted turkey gravy from the jar).I used frozen corn and put the rest of my green beans in. I really liked this but I will not use the green beans next time - I forgot to add that you need at least double the gravy the recipe calls for because the stuffing soaks it up.

Cooked it at 350 uncovered for 1 hour. YUMM Thank you !!

Honeyed Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
This Glaze really makes Ham taste Special! It was so quick and easy. The clove really gives it flavor.I was out of minced onion so I used 1 teaspoon of onion powder. I also used 1/2 tsp ground cloves and 1/4 tsp of ginger. This smelled so Wonderful. My husband brought some leftovers for work today and it filled the lunchroom with a extra special aroma - everyone wanted to know what he had. I made this with "Scalloped potatoes and Onions" - a recipe on this site. The potatoes cooked at 325 along with the ham. We had a Great dinner. Delicious !!! Thank you for sharing your recipe Sara

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
I wanted to try this particularly because it doesn't call for any cheese, canned soups,or cream. I liked the fact that this is made with broth - I used 99 percent fat free.I did not change anything. I could not believe the flavor and it was so creamy - YUMM ! I made it with Ham. That was another plus - in the oven at 325 you can make both the potatoes and ham with out having to deal with the temperature differences. I used the "Honeyed Ham Glaze" recipe on this site for my Ham. Wonderful!!! We had a Great dinner. These are the real scalloped potatoes and so Yummy !!! Even better the next day. A keeper for me - Thank you for sharing Dorothy

Sassy Steak Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
Great Flavor !!!! Made this last night for dinner on my George Foreman grill.I did everything according to recipe.I marinated a thick Ribeye steak for about 9 hours and sliced a large portabella mushroom for the sauce. It was soo delish !!!! I often sautee mushrooms or onions with our steak but My DH always uses steak sauce anyway but with this recipe no steak sauce was needed. He loved it !!! I thought it was a bit sweet but very tasty. We will definately be having this again. I made this again and had a different taste - The cocktail sauce you use makes a big difference in flavor. Thank you for sharing your recipe

Caramelized Onions on the Grill

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
I made these in the oven - placed Vidalia Onions in foil pouch and set them on a cookie sheet with edges - Just in case it leaked. Cooked at 400 for 1 hour. I sprinkled with garlic pepper. These were so yummy !!! Next time we grill steaks I will make these onions and put them over my steak. I know it seems like alot of butter but it prevents it from sticking and burning. Yumm Yumm

Then baked - I don't know how long - I wanted the top crisp so the last 5 minutes I turned the oven up to 375. They were SO DELICIOUS !!! If you try these don't forget to add the green onions (or Chives) because it made a BIG difference.(Also 1 Pkg of cream cheese is plenty) These are Super Yummy !!!

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
This recipe is Great ! My husband and I have tried this 4 times now - He actually requested it yesterday, definately a keeper. We don't usually marinade rib eye steaks because they are so tender anyway - but this is a nice change. Excellent Flavor !! And Oh Sooo Tender ! UPDATE - we never use to marinate ribeyes but we use this all the time now - the flavor is so good and it is so tender / just cooking steaks with seasoning just isn't the same. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Awesome !!!

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
So Easy and So Good. I used three cups of frozen blueberries and the topping as listed in the recipe. I mixed some of the topping in with the blueberries and put the rest on the top. It took a little longer to cook but I am sure it was because I used frozen blueberries. I asked my husband if he could taste the mayo and he did not know what I meant. I said there is mayo in the blueberry crisp - he said he would have never known if I did not tell him. It was yummy !!! Thank you for sharing your recipe

It turned out GREAT.Thank you for sharing your recipe we will have this again. I made this again but added some frozen peas and frozen corn and I liked it much better.
