Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
Its cold outside and soup always tastes SOOO good when its cold - This is a great recipe !!!! My husband even likes it and he does not usually like or eat soup at all. This soup is awesome !!!! I made beer butt chicken the night before so I used what was left over from that. I saute'd celery, onion, garlic and fresh sliced mushroom before adding the broth (extra broth). I did not have the quick cooking rice so I let it simmer for 25 minutes. I used 2 boxes of rice - uncle bens and rice a roni (both) long grain and wild rice. I used 1 packet of seasoning in the broth and the other packet in the roux. I also used 1 cup heavy cream and 1 cup of 1% milk. This one is a keeper !!!! Thank you for sharing your recipe

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This recipe is so easy and SOOOO good. I love Bob Evans sausage - I only used 1/2 pound and that was plenty. I made it Last Saturday and used the other half pound of sausage on Sunday in a breakfast casserole. It is also very inexpensive - we will be having this again yumm.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
So Easy and So Good. I used three cups of frozen blueberries and the topping as listed in the recipe. I mixed some of the topping in with the blueberries and put the rest on the top. It took a little longer to cook but I am sure it was because I used frozen blueberries. I asked my husband if he could taste the mayo and he did not know what I meant. I said there is mayo in the blueberry crisp - he said he would have never known if I did not tell him. It was yummy !!! Thank you for sharing your recipe

Garlic-Shrimp Angel Hair

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
This was Delicious !!!! I only had one cup of half-and-half so I used that and one cup of milk. I did not have pesto so I added a teaspoon of dried basil and a little extra garlic.I also used fresh asparagus rather then broccoli. I did not measure the shrimp or asparagus just threw a bunch of both in pan (I used frozen pre-cooked medium shrimp). This was awesome I will definately be making this again (with the asparagus). My husband really liked this and he is very picky - This recipe is great for quick weeknight meals yet also elegant enough to serve company. Thank you so much Robbie for sharing your recipe

Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
What a great way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers.I did not use shredded carrots and I put extra gravy with the turkey (heinz roasted turkey gravy from the jar).I used frozen corn and put the rest of my green beans in. I really liked this but I will not use the green beans next time - I forgot to add that you need at least double the gravy the recipe calls for because the stuffing soaks it up.

I soaked beans overnight and added baking soda. I used half chicken broth and half water. I did not add any salt. I added extra onion, celery and carrots. I also added a little extra garlic. The ham hock and bay leaves give it such good flavor. I Let it simmer on the stove for hours. It smelled wonderful and tasted delicious !!!! Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
The first time I tried this recipe I did exactly as recipe stated - I thought it was very blah - No flavor. I made it tonight and it was so much better! This is what I did - In a bowl mix soup, sour cream, Cheese, and 1 thinly sliced/chopped onion. Spray pan with Pam spray and put a layer of half of the hashbrowns - then half of the ham chunks - then half of the Soup/sourcream mixture. Then repeat layers. 10 minutes before it was ready I stirred everything together and baked for 10 more minutes. It was a huge difference - Definitely add extra ham and chopped onion in it for flavor.

Flaky Crescent Mushroom Turnovers

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
These were SOOO GOOD !!! I had trouble putting them together the first time I made them. I made these again only just used the cresent rolls where preforated. I made 4 squares then before serving cut them in half from corner to corner. I used fresh onion and dried parsley and made extra filling. After draining I put them in a bowl and added marble jack and parmesean cheese. Last time I made them I added some shredded mozzerella cheese. Yummy !!! Thank you for sharing your recipe

Easiest Teriyaki Marinade Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
This was super easy but I did not care for the cinnamon taste. I made it on GF grill and I think the smell was bad in my house - I would try this again but would use ginger. My hubby said it was ok but he did not like the cinnamon taste and thought it was to sweet.

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
I did not brown the onion in butter -just cut it up real fine, and did not use buttery crackers and butter on top. Otherwise I Made exactly as recipe stated but used Fresh Broccoli not frozen - This was terrible !! Way Way to salty - seasoned salt - garlic salt - plus salt in the soup. YUCK !!!! If anyone is trying this recipe I would strongly suggest not adding any the salt called for in the recipe. I will NOT be making this again and would NOT recomend it to anybody.

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I have never had Souvlaki but it looked good and had so many rave reviews I had to try it. I am so glad I did - we were out of charcoal so I made it on the stove. It was wonderful. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and had sooo much flavor.I marinated the meat for 4-5 hours. When I started slowly browning the meat I put the red & yellow pepper and onion in the marinade for about 10 minutes. Then added that to the meat and let it simmer on the stove covered. It was Delicious !!!!!!! Leftovers the next day were really salty.
