A good go-to recipe. I added blueberries to mine. Next time I will add some vanilla too.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

As suggested by other reviewers, I subbed half the oil for some applesauce (and whatever additions my husband made when my back was turned!). Turned out great. Will make again.

Banana Muffins II

This receipe was quick and easy and yeilded exactly what you'd expect, a basic banana muffin that tasted good but was just average.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I love pancakes and I have been searching for the perfect recipe forever. Unfortunately, the search continues. I added some vanilla and beat the egg white separately for extra fluffiness but to no avail. These pancakes came out flat and dense. Their only saving grace was that they were easy to make. Still looking for the perfect light and airy pancake...

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Very easy prep and versatile meal, great for a crowd. I think it would work great as part of a warm dip. Make sure you love the salsa you use as that's pretty much what the final dish will taste like.

Banana Prune Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Trying to make some quick and reasonably healthy breakFASTs. Had some prunes on hand and found this recipe. I susbstituted apple sauce for most of the oil and soaked my prunes in orange juice before adding. I don't think I had the full cup of prunes nor did I have enough banana but it seemed to work out. Overall they were bland but certainly edible.

Carrot Oatmeal Muffins

These were very yummy! I took them to a breakfast playdate where they were enjoyed by adults and kids alike! As per other reviews, I added a pinch of nutmeg and substituted some applesauce for the oil (about 1/3) and they turned out delicious! Will make again soon!

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Wow! I've never made bread pudding so not quite sure what to expect but this was stellar. I substituted Splenda for the sugar and it turned out great. Made a little maple bourbon sauce to drizzle on top and it was a hit!

This is an AMAZING recipe! I put an Asian spin on mine though - I use Jasmine instead of plain rice and substitute coconut milk instead of plain. Yummy!!!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

This was exactly as the name suggests - quick, easy AND delicious. But it only took 1 cup of milk... Anyway, I added some crab meat, my husband added bacon. Both were good. This is a keeper.

Burmese Chicken Curry (Gaeng Gai Bama)

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
My husband is the curry maker in our household but I decided to make this recipe. I used extra coconut milk, and had to omit the fresh tomatoes since were out. I hate cilantro and left this out too. Likely the biggest change I made was using a slow cooker (quickly browned chicken in skillet first). WE had it over jasmine rice. Turned out very well and my husband was really impressed. Will make this again.

Lamb L'Arabique

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
We had some lamb and I was craving something Middle Eastern. My husband selected and prepared this dish (finally followed a recipe without modifications!) as we had the ingredients on hand. I thought that it was really good although the flavour could have been even more intense. I thought that apricots or some other dried fruit would be a nice addition. I thought that it warranted a 5 but he said only 4 stars (he made it!) - I suspect it's because he's not a big fan of lentils and chick peas! Hopefully he makes this again!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
I'm sorry but this recipe was awful. I made several modifications suggested by other reviewers including adding bay leaves, brown sugar, ginger, red wine vinegar and reducing soya sauce. Served it with jasmine rice which was the hi-light of the meal! Used dark meat and while it was very tender, the taste was terrible - we could not even finish it. Won't ever make this again.

Banana Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
My husband (who hates cranberries!), loved this recipe. I used homemade cranberry sauce (recipe on this site, Cranberry Sauce I submitted by Toni) and while the actual cranberry sauce was excellent, I have to agree with other reviewers that there didn't seem to be enough cranberries. Should consider adding some whole cranberries next time. I substituted margarine for the shortening and made them into muffins instead of loaves. Worked out well.

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
I've never made my own cranberry sauce before. I've always used the canned stuff. I thought I would give this a try since I like to know exactly what I'm eating (I don't trust labels!!). This recipe was perfect - exactly what I expected. Perfect combination between sweet and tart. And SOOOO easy to make!!! This will be my 'forever recipe' for cranberry sauce!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
This soup was great. It was my first time cooking with butternut squash. I roasted it prior to adding it to the soup for a bit more flavour. In the end, it was super thick and I had to add LOTS of milk to thin it out. This may because I never measure anything and likely had too much squash (consequently I also added way too much cayenne - opps!). I also didn't have enough cream cheese (i.e. only half), but it still tasted great. I will make this again.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
This was a great recipe. So easy and I love the fact that you can have a roast dinner any night of the week! I added a bit of Bisto in the end to add flavour and thicken the gravy. While it was wonderful as is, I will try a few changes next time. Perhaps I'll add garlic and omit the celery. I also love the taste of rosemary on beef, so I may add some of that also.

Cheese Fondue

Made the recipe as is except that I omitted the nutmeg. We really liked it. We dipped pumpernickel and ACE Bakery bread (yum!). We also tried dipping apples as another user suggested. Will definitely make this again but next time we'll double the recipe!
