I am a descendent of some of the most marvelous home cooks that I know. Their expertise was to make the simplified family recipes sing on your pallette, each and everytime! I am continuing on this quest, striving to add my own niche in this foodie legacy. My voyage theme is Destination Delicious. I want my pallette to enounter the tastes of the world. It blossoms almost everynight in my comfy abode as I grind, saute, baste, render and poach, to name a few.
My favorite things to cook
I love international cuisine! Anything exotic and most things with a bit of spiciness! I am currently perfecting the art of the meal. Latest Loves include:
Jamaican Curry Chicken, peas and rice and cabbage
Pueto Rican Roasted Pork Loin, black beans and rice (leftovers=Medianoches!)
Croque Monsieur/Madame & Classic French Onion Soup
Steak Medium Rare, mushroom risotto, asparagus with buerre blanc sauce
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother, who is 80 years old now, loves to cook big family dinners. Every year we collect in her state to celebrate and show our Thanksgiving. She has two recipes that could have made her a millionaire many times over had she wanted to see them. One is her cornbread dressing. Her particualarity over the ingredients and unwillingness to compromise is a sight to behold. The second of the two is her recipe and baking of sweet potatoe pie. Nothing I've tasted can compare.
