About this Cook
I'm in the Air Force and love to collect recipes from around the world and from various friends I have met in the few years since I started cooking. I love to cook for friends, as I live alone and need an excuse to cook up tons of good food.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and I am quite good at pies and cakes (cheesecake is one thing I get asked for a lot). I also adore spicy foods and anything with chicken- I eat meat very rarely and it creates fun challenges coming up with subsitutes and experimenting with textures.

Angel Food Cake III
This was the first time I have ever made angel food cake and it came out fantastic! Perfectly light and springy and moist (would have been better if I hadn't slightly overcooked it). I made a whipped cream frosting and covered it in strawberries. I used the amount of sugar the recipe called for and I didn't think it was too sweet. I made two 9" round cakes and cooked for 20 minutes, I would recommend less time, 15-17 minutes. And whip the eggs! It's a good ten minutes of whipping, you'll need a mixer unless you have very strong arms.

Key Lime Pie VIII
Amazing! This is the first Key Lime Pie recipe I've made that had the flavor and texture I was looking for. It was simple and fast and tastes even better the next day.

Chicken Chimichangas
I enjoyed this recipe a lot, I brushed olive oil on the tortillas and baked them in the oven instead of frying. I used more olives and prepared the ingredients the day before to lessen prep time. I added hot taco seasoning to the rice and cooked chicken (I love spicy food and this recipe seemed a bit bland), and the flavor was wonderful. Great recipe with lots of room for experimentation! I did end up having enough for a lot more than six servings, however.
