Easy Spiced Brown Rice With Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This recipe didn't have much flavor. It didn't taste any different than plain brown rice to me or my family.

Beefy Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is the best recipe I've found on this website or anywhere else. I made the recipe just as it was written, and my family loved it. The only thing they requested that I do different next time was add more rice. It was actually more meat than rice, so they had a point. I multiplied the rice by 1.5 the next time I made it, and they liked it better. I liked it both ways.

Beef Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is now one of my favorite recipes. It had a lot more flavor than most dishes and tasted like something from a restaurant. The only things I did differently were to leave out the olives (don't like them) and to use rotel instead of the green chiles (didn't have any chiles). They were very good, but filling, so I didn't get to eat as many as I would have liked to

Blueberry Crisp I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
Very good and easy to make! It took less than 5 minutes to prepare. It called for WAY too much water, however. If I made it again I would also add more blueberries, although that's just my personal taste, and it isn't really necessary. I'll definitely be making this again. I also used cinnamon instead of nutmeg.

Aimee's Quick Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is the best chicken I've ever had in my entire life. I think the recipe calls for a little more mustard than a lot of people would like, although I was fine with it and so was my family. I've been asked to make it again, and I will.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
I made this recipe once for myself, with just one chicken breast, and it was very good. My mom tried it and loved it and had me make it later for the whole family. The second time I made it, I made about 5 or 6 breasts, and it was extremely messy! I would make it again with just 1 or 2 breasts but never again a bunch of them. Cleaning up took forever.

Factory Workers Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
When I made this, I didn't thaw the chicken before I marinated it, I just set it in the amrinade on the kitchen counter for about 5 hours. Because of this, the flavor wasn't very strong after I cooked it. It was pretty good, but not great. I'm going to give it another try, and this time make sure I thaw the chicken before marinating it.

Chicken Frittata

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
Way too many eggs! It took a lot longer to cook than the recipe said. It was more like 50 minutes. It tasted ok (nothing special, a little bland, but eatable), but the preparation took so long it wasn't worth it.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This didn't sound good to me, but my family wanted me to make it, and it turned out to be great! I used low fat margarine, egg whites, and garlic powder in place of garlic salt, so it wasn't too unhealthy. I also only needed 2 egg whites (the recipe calls for 2 whole eggs, meaning I should have needed 4 egg whites). I will definitely make it again.

Open-Faced Omelet

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
I liked it a lot. The tomatoes and egg were a good combination. I wouldn't change anything about the recipe, although I did use some egg whites instead of whole eggs.

Jacob's Coat Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
Very good! I only used green beans and corn, as I was out of carrots and peas, and I used frozen vegetables, rather than canned. I also cut way back on the amount of vegetables. I made the equivalent of a 20 oz bag of frozen vegetables. I made real mashed potatoes, rather than instant, and only used about 2-3 cups, rather than 4. It took a lot of time to prepare, but it was worth it.

Broccoli Casserole III

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
Half of the broccoli did not get cooked! It was ice cold. I had to heat up the whole casserole in the microwave, even after leaving it in the oven for longer than the recipe called for.

Egg Fried Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is the best fried rice I've ever had that wasn't from a restaurant (it's the closest thing to Chinese restaurant fried rice I've tasted). It needs a little more egg and beans, I think.

Potato Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
I liked them. They tasted like mashed potatoes and pancakes. They didn't have a ton of flavor, but I don't think they were supposed to. I added my own seasonings to my own serving when it was on my plate.

Oven Baked Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
Whoever says these only take 20 minutes to bake is crazy. Mine took about 50 minutes, and even then they weren't even close to being overcooked or well-done. My family thought there were too many bread crumbs.

Chile Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
This is one of my favorites! I never even liked pork until I had this. My family ate it over rice. It was not very spicy, so beware if that's what you like. My mom, who doesn't like anything spicy, ate it and liked it.

Macaroni and Cheese V

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2003
I loved this dish. My family thought less bread crumbs would be better, but I liked having so many of them. My mom suggested cooking it in a less deep, wider dish so the bread crumbs would be more spread out.
