Dumplings

Awesome!! Doubled the butter because everyone else said they did, too, not sure if it was necessary. My husband prefers Bisquick dumplings but loved these! He said they were perfect.

Yum! I used the marinate for Quorn (fake chicken) which I cubed, skewered and grilled. It was very, very good.

Greek Pasta with Tomatoes and White Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
This is a 5 star recipe without a doubt. It was inexpensive, healthy, fast & delicious! I substituted about 1 lb. fresh romas with 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil. I also used garlic & herb feta. This was so good, I ate the left overs for lunch today. I was concerned about not adding any salt, but with the feta, it balanced really well.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
These are delicious!! I used Sirachi for the hot sauce and all I had was Italian breadcrumbs, but I couldn't taste the herbs over the chili, cumin & garlic. Super easy and much better than a plain old Boca burger!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
I made this for my grandma and aunt, but I did not try it. I used a 2.5lb roast with 1 packet of Lipton's beefy onion soup mix, 1 cup water, 2 carrots, 5 medium new potatoes and a small onion sliced. As suggested, I seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning and seared in a cast iron pan with hot olive oil, then added to the crock and cooked on high for 4 hours. They both said it was extremely tender and really good. They ate almost all if it, just the 2 of them, for dinner. :) Thanks for the recipe!

Mini Cheesecakes III

This makes 6 regular muffin sized cheesecakes - incase anyone else wasn't clear on that. OMG these are soo good! I tripled the recipe to make 18 but followed the directions to a T with out making any changes. These are fabulous!!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These are excellent! The funny thing is that I wanted flat, crisp cookies which is what I expected after reading the complaining reviews that these went flat in the oven. But mine didn't go flat at all, they barely spread! I used an ice cream scoop to portion, baked on parchment at 335 (as another review suggested) for 12 minutes and they were perfect. They were puffy and undercooked looking when I took them out, but once they cooled on the cookie sheet they fell and were perfectly chewy in the middle and barely crisp at the edges.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
These are insanely delicious!! This was the first time I've made scones and they taste better than the ones at Starbucks! I added 2 palmfuls of dried cranberries and the zest of 1/2 a lemon. Instead of grating the butter, I cut it into small pieces. I added all the dry ingredients to my food processor then added the butter and pulsed a few times. Then added the sour cream and egg mixture and pulsed a few more times until it formed a lumpy dough. I added the cranberries after I removed the dough from the processor but I'm going to try pulsing them with the dry ingredients next time.

Wow, these are great and I only used 1 c. chopped walnuts. I accidentally didn't buy enough walnuts but 1 c. seemed to be a good amount anyway. Delicious!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
OMG, these are fantastic!! I made these using some unripe Roma's in my garden and we used crushed saltine's instead of cornmeal. They were really, truly OUT OF THIS WORLD! We made a little relish I guess you could call it of diced ripe tomatoes and orange bellpepper with finely diced jalapeno and a splash of cider vinegar with salt. It was an addictive combination.

So, So awesome! I made these as part of our annual holiday food baskets and they were a HUGE hit. My fiance, who never cooks, made these with me. I also used them to decorate a Buche de Noel for Christmas Eve. These are a keeper and will be part of our baskets every year from here on out.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Excellent recipe with a very rich chocolately flavor! I made these for my friends birthday and served each with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. This dessert is identical to one that's served at our favorite fine dining restaurant in town. I had a problem with mine sticking - I used vintage aluminum 4 oz. Jello molds coated with butter and flour but the cakes would not release. That wasn't a big deal as we were all happy enough to eat them out of the molds. Excellent flavor! I used Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter. I will be making these again for Valentine's Day! :)
