Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
This was pretty tasty and I liked it more than I thought I would. My husband loves sweet sauces on salmon, but I usually like more garlicky/dill flavors. This was sweet but it was tasty. I followed the ingredient list and portions exactly but I cooked it longer. I liked it best when I sprinkled green onions on top. Thanks for sharing your recipe :)

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
I made this for my grandma and aunt, but I did not try it. I used a 2.5lb roast with 1 packet of Lipton's beefy onion soup mix, 1 cup water, 2 carrots, 5 medium new potatoes and a small onion sliced. As suggested, I seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning and seared in a cast iron pan with hot olive oil, then added to the crock and cooked on high for 4 hours. They both said it was extremely tender and really good. They ate almost all if it, just the 2 of them, for dinner. :) Thanks for the recipe!

New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
This was pretty good, but it was very oily and it gave me a stomach ache. We had it with french bread to sop up the sauce. My husband thought it was too sweet (of all things) and I did see that L&H worchestershire sauce has corn syrup.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These are excellent! The funny thing is that I wanted flat, crisp cookies which is what I expected after reading the complaining reviews that these went flat in the oven. But mine didn't go flat at all, they barely spread! I used an ice cream scoop to portion, baked on parchment at 335 (as another review suggested) for 12 minutes and they were perfect. They were puffy and undercooked looking when I took them out, but once they cooled on the cookie sheet they fell and were perfectly chewy in the middle and barely crisp at the edges.

This marinade is delicious. I used it on Quorn brand turk'y (fake meat) and it was great!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This is an excellent recipe! Super easy and delicious. My husband was extremely happy with this and I was happy that it was cheap and easy to make :) I did not add raisins but otherwise followed the recipe and it was fantastic.

Eggs Avocado Benedict Style

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
This was great! I was searching for a diabetic friendly breakfast and this is perfect. I substituted whole wheat sourdough so it'd be OK for my diet restrictions. I also subbed fake bacon for ham and added a sliced tomato. Sooo delicious :)

Pickled Red Beet Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
These weren't very good. Not enough vinegar to cover the eggs. Not enough flavor for us, either.

Mock Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
wow. This is so good! I can hardly believe it's as tasty as it is. I highly recommend this recipe. I added dill pickle relish, chopped celery heart and leaves, and some finely minced red onion instead of the green. Amazingly good, i'm so glad it made plenty, I'm looking forward to having this for lunch again tomorrow. p.s. my can was only 15 ounces.

Brown Rice, Broccoli, Cheese and Walnut Surprise

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
yum! I used regular brown rice and added a dash of steak seasoning (just felt like it) . Super, duper delicious and healthy... if you don't go crazy with the cheese. Thank you for the recipe.

All-Star Veggie Burger

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
I don't think this is even a recipe. I think it's just stuff thrown together. They don't hold together as burgers and there's almost no flavor. The amount of seasoning could easily be tripled. I think people who change the whole recipe shouldn't leave 4 star reviews because this is not a 4 star recipe. I barely salvaged these into patties, but they're lose and wet and do not hold together. I got 14 patties, not 8.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2010
this tastes EXACTLY like mint 'n chip ice cream without the hassle of making a creme en glaze! Love it. But, even with my ice cream maker insert having been frozen for weeks, it took more like 50 minutes before the ice cream was thick enough to add the chips.

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Wow!! These are excellent. They are fluffy and soft and honestly, a thousand times better than I expected. I served with fresh diced strawberries :) Also, for anyone on weight watchers, I got 20 small pancakes out of the written recipe (did not sub apple sauce) and they are worth 2 points each. I ate 4 and WW counted it as 7.5 points.

Louisiana Crawfish Etouffee

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
3.5 stars overall. I was a raised on a variation of this recipe, but I gave this one a shot for something a little different. I found the suggested amount of seasoning was too salty, but the directions did say "or to taste." My real complaints are that it's very thick and I had to double the amount of water t thin it and there was way too much diced onion. My husband complained that it gave him a stomach ache. OH well, worth a try, but I'll stick with my stepmom's recipe.

Avocado Corn Relish

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
This is a great - I thought I made up this recipe, but apparently not! I added quartered cherry tomatoes and let them marinate in the vinegar with the onion to soften the bite of the onion. Sometimes I also add minced fresh basil.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
This is an excellent sauce. We used it to serve with Tofu Tod (a thai appetizer of fried tofu). I added about a 1/4 c. water to thin it out enough for dipping and it was perfect. Thanks!

Strawberry and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This is so, so, so delicious. I made it almost as written except I used red wine vinegar instead of raspberry since that's what I had and I cut the oil in half as suggested by other reviewers. Absolutely fantastic. I served it with grilled tuna steaks and grilled asparagus with a balsamic reduction = it was the perfect meal! Thanks for sharing the recipe :)

Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

These are delicious with a nice consistency. I didn't have celery so I left it out and added a dash of Old Bay. My husband and I devoured these as soon as I was finished making them.

Baked Falafel

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
These turned out really good. I used different spices but used the same onion/flour/baking soda and they had a great texture. I ate these as burgers with avocado, lettuce and tomato.
