Walnut Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
This is one of my favorite Christmas cookies ever! My family has been making them for years. You don't need to worry about the liners or even greasing the pan, since there's so much butter in the dough. It can be a bit of a pain to press the dough into the pans. Instead you can just roll them into balls and then use a wooden pastry tamp dipped in flour - totally worth the $10 on amazon! Makes the whole process a lot faster and more professional looking

Honey Nut Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2012
I have made this granola time and time again. Everyone always loves it, its so easy, and it makes a ton so its perfect to bag and give as a gift! I usually substitute walnuts for pecans. I also add 1/4 cup ground flaxseed for nutritional value. I bake for 20 minutes like the recipe suggests but I take it out and stir it every 7 minutes. It seems like 3 minutes wouldn't really make a difference but it does. This can get very brown (borderline burnt) very quickly so I think every 7 minutes is perfect. I bake it on wax paper for easy clean up and as its cooling I add some craisins. Perfect!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
Wow..amazing peanut butter cookie recipe. I realized last minute that I bought a 15oz peanut butter but they were still really moist with a ton of peanut butter flavor. I got so many compliments on these cookies! Next time I think I'll add some chocolate chips or candies. I'll probably also cut the recipe in half unless I know I'm taking them for a large group since it makes 60 cookies!

Top Shelf Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
These were really good. I made a double batch and it fit perfectly in my pitcher without any ice. I didn't want to water down the cocktail so instead of adding ice in the pitcher I just shook each one with ice in a shaker before serving in a salt-rimmed glass. I only made half of the sour mix and had plenty for the double batch with some left over. I also had leftover simple syrup but I wanted that just to have in my fridge. Like other reviewers said, its a strong drink but delicious with the fresh ingredients. You can add more or less alcohol or simple syrup to your liking

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I made this tonight and o..m..g. So good. I didn't have the taco seasoning which I was really worried about. Instead I used a few tsps creole seasoning, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes and it was still amazing, flavorful, and spicy!! I only used 2 chicken breasts but it made a ton. I added the chicken frozen and cooked in the crock pot on high for 8 hours. It fell apart perfectly with a few turns with tongs. I also substituted chicken broth for beer like some other reviewers recommended. Will absolutely make again and again!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I absolutely LOVED this recipe. I took the advice of some others and used chicken broth instead of water and put the biscuits in about 90 minutes before serving.

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I made these for valentine's day - so so good! I made them plain..left out the burbon, coconut, and pecans..and they still got great. The cake mix makes it really easy. One tip is to take them out of the oven after they have just begun to crack (8 mins) just like the recipe says. I was a little hesitant with the first tray because they looked like they weren't nearly done so I left them in a few minutes longer and they ended up burning.
