Black Bean Hummus

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I really liked this and so did my co-workers! I made a couple of changes. I used peanut butter instead of the tahini because it was what I had on hand. I only used 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, we don't like it that hot. To us it had just the right bite! Thanks for a great recipe and healthy too! No oil!

Raspberry Ribbon Slices

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
These were very easy and taste really good. I made them for my cookie exchange. I made 3 batches in about 1hr 45 min. I think the key to cutting them is to follow the recipe for cooling for 2 minutes. I cut them immediately and had no problems. Very tender and buttery. I think they were terrific.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
This was my first time making spaghetti squash. This was super easy. I didn't have any olives. I used a can of diced tomatoes with garlic and basil. No fresh basil so I used dried. I liked the texture, the squash was sort of crunchy. I think this would be good with some shrimp. Great recipe!

Spaghetti Salad II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This was great. I get a lot of compliments when I make this. Next time I might add some zucchini. My fave dressing is Wishbone Italian. I omitted the red onion as I just don't like them but I added a little vidalia onion, finely choppped. Our local grocery store makes a really good spaghetti salad and this is very close.

Grilled Pork Tenderloins

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This was delicious! I didn't have any terryaki sauce but I don't think you'd really need it. We invited neighbors for dinner and they just loved it. I sent a copy of the recipe home with them. They said they had never had pork loin before & were defiantly going to make this. Thanks for a great recipe.

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
My husband just loves these. I bought a new belgian waffle maker recently & have been experimenting with homemade recipes. I followed the recipe almost exactly but I add 1/2 t cinnamon. These are really fluffy and come out perfectly. Thanks

This was great!! I followed some of the other reviewers tips. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. My mother in law bought some at a middle eastern bakery & told me mine was better! The advice about the 1 1/2 times the sauce is perfect. I did add a little more cinnamon, my husband's personal preference. Also I followed the advice about using a spray bottle for the butter. That was so easy! I placed all of the dough over the edge of the pan & covered it as I was using it. That was a really handy tip. For my first time it only took my about 20 minutes to put together. Follow the tip about putting hot sauce on cooled baklava ( or vice versa). And only cutting the baklava to within 1/2 inch from bottom when you bake it mine wasn't soggy at all. I will defiantly be making this again!!

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Like the previous reviewers I only used 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract(personal preference.) But this is a very easy to use recipe. Mine turned out perfectly. I liked that you didn't have to refrigerate the dough. These tasted great too!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
I made a double recipe for about 40 people at my husband's birthday party. Thought I was going to have lots of leftovers, boy was I wrong! Only had enough for a meal for the 2 of us. These were such a hit. I didn't change anything.

Walnut-Filled Pillows

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I really like the recipe. I did make a few changes. My husband thought the pastry was kind of blah so I added 1/4 c sugar to sweeten it a little. Also when I made the second batch I added a little cinnamon to it. You can really do quite a few different things to the filling. I hadn't thought about all the different ways to make the pillow. Will try some of the other suggestions next time.
