My favorite things to cook
I love all Asian cuisine, and have a particular penchant for sushi, though I am famous among those who know me for my cookies, which often incorporate either almond essence or peanuts, whether the recipe calls for it or not. My savoury meals, however, are almost always vegetable based; I like to cook food that is healthy.
My cooking triumphs
For my best friend's birthday I baked her a giant jaffa cake! It was both stunningly beautiful in its jaffa cake-ness, and terribly delectable.
My cooking tragedies
I made a red velvet cake that was not red in the slightest (though still quite tasty), and coconut cookies which looked worryingly like the pods from which strange creatures often emerge in the Alien movies.

Chinese Cookies
Absolutely delicious! I split the dough, flavouring half with chocolate and half with almond, and then shaped each ball of dough into a sausage shape. I then twisted the two different flavours of dough together and smoothed the sides to form one long, stripey roll of cookie dough! It looked so pretty that I decided to split this long roll in two again, rolling each half in different colour sprinkles. Once chilled, the consistency was perfect for slicing the dough into individual cookies. I would really recommend this recipe, though I did have to add some milk before I could chill it, as the mixture was very dry without!

Golden Sweet Cornbread
This recipe makes absolutely fantastic cornbread - it is the best I have ever had, and I would certainly use it again. I didn't need to make any changes, although I like the idea of baking the batter in muffin cases and reducing the time in the oven.

Mom's Sushi Rice
Makes perfect rice! I used this recipe to make onigiri (Japanese rice balls) to put in my packed lunch for school, and they were delicious.
