Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
Made as directed except used fresh garlic. The hubby who does not like green pepper was very impressed. Will never used the canned version again. Next time will add some barbeque sauce in with the ketchup as many reviewers did.

Green Pozole

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
My family totally loved this! I didn't use the pasilla or the green chiles as my family doesn't like their food too spicy. I used only chicken breast and added more hominy as we love our hominy. Will be making this all the time as it is much much easier than the traditional red pozole and by using chicken it is better for us. I think next time I will use chicken thighs as the breast does seem to be dry for this recipe.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2014
OMG!!!!!!!!! Best pasta salad! Didn't have olives or garlic pepper. Had a half bag of broccoli slaw so added that. CANNOT STOP EATING IT!!! Took the advice of another reviewer and did half mayo and half sour cream. Added a tiny bit of red onions. Hope the family loves it as much as I do.

Chef John's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2013
My goodness, had I known making pumpkin pies were so easy, I would have done this years ago. No more store bought pies for me on the holidays. From now on I will be making this one. Very creamy and my husband could not stop raving about it. Didn't have the 5 spice but will look for it so I can add it next time. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
Tried this soup tonight. What a quick and easy soup. I used chicken broth as others suggested and omitted the chicken bouillon and used a lot less pepper. Everyone loved it! Next time I think I will add a little cornstarch as I personally would like it thicker. Otherwise I will be making it on a regular basis.

Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Tried it with ranch and bleu cheese dressing instead of mayo. Found some buffalo popcorn chix in the freezer section, I thawed and added this instead of cooked chicken. Hubby doesn't like bell peppers so I put celery instead. He doesn't like any other pasta salad but he loves this one. Taste better the following day.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
Well I had my daughter try it when it was done. She tasted it and said "HOLY COWABUNGA DUDE!!! THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! Made this for a demonstration party and everyone loved it. I actually ran out and had to cook extra breasts on the stove but thankfully took out some sauce earlier and that saved me. I did use half a can of chix broth but had to take some sauce out from the crockpot. But if I didn't do that, I think it might have been too dry.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
I make this very similar but I put a jar of Mild Gardiniera instead of the Pepperoncini peppers at the very beginning. (I live in Chgo and don't know if this is available in other parts of the country). I also use beef broth instead of water and only 1 envelope of Italian dressing. I buy a loaf of French bread and cut into sandwich sizes. For anyone who likes a lil spice on their foods, I put Hot Gardiniera on my sandwich. Everyone who has eaten it loves it and I am constantly being asked when will I make it again. This couldn't be any easier.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
I made this for the contest at the hubby's job and won!!!! It was fantastic. Only changes I made was add fresh garlic, pinto beans, canned tomatoes instead of tomato sauce and added some chili powder cuz it tasted a little too tomatoey. He said they licked the pot clean! I made it the night before and he had it on "Warm" in the crock pot. This is a keeper !!!

Vegetable Lo Mein Delight

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Easy to make. I took a shortcut and added a bag of broccoli slaw to save on chopping. I think I will use spaghetti next time. I used the Lo Mein noodles but they were kind of thick. Would prefer the thinner noodles.
