Elephant Ears

This comes from a really good cookbook for kids. This recipe also makes 26 servings...or at least 26 cookies...very yum-yummy Maybe a bit more moisture, though.

Ultimate French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2003
You need to add a bit extra grease to the pan so the toast won't stick. Also, I had to double everything but the bread because there weren't enough eggs. It could've done with about a tablespoon extra of milk, and when I ate some, I found that the inside was a bit mushy, as though it hadn't been cooked enough. Next time I'll go a little lighter on how much egg I put onto the bread so it's not so mushy.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2003
When you make cinnamon go on top instead of salt, you can't dunk the whole thing. Next time, I'll make it so that I use a pastry brush on the pretzel so it's not so strong. Let the smaller people (kids) make their own shapes of the pretzels (if they're siblings, letters of their names are fun!).

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2003
I skipped the brown sugar--I couldn't find it on the recipe! This recipe takes a long time for rising, so I kept a book close by. I halved the recipe and it didn't have enough dough. Next time, I'll make it with all six loaves--they disappear so quickly! If we could rate any higher on this recipe, I'd make it a 50!

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
These were GOOD. The first time I made them, I used 2/3 cup of buttermilk (which wasn't really buttermilk, anyway; it was a little less than 2/3 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar) but the second time I did it right with the same mix for buttermilk. Yum yum. I ate all of 'em...that was my food for the day. It was YUMMY.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2003
This was quite delicious. I forgot to listen to the reviews and put the dough into the refrigerator. When I was done, I ate a few and put the rest into the refrigerator. After school I tried some and they were as hard as stone...but these are very yummmmmy :) I made a second batch exactly the same way, and I worked up the best dough I've seen in a lifetime. Then I gave it to my D&D group, being dubbed, "The Cookie Giver" and I halved the choc chips. mmmm.
