Simple Lemon Chicken

I thought this was really good but the rest of the family was so-so about it, I added the zest of a lemon but otherwise kept the recipe intact. I served with white rice & veggies, maybe I'll try it again but add herbs to it, rosemary or something...

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

This was very good, very flavorful and super simple to make.... will be making this on sports nights when time for making supper is limited. I didn't have pepperjack cheese so I used a prepared mix of strong shredded cheeses and added just a teaspoon of red pepper... As for the portion - not gonna feed 4 adults with this recipe, it would have to be doubled... very good. I may add prosciutto next time I make it, or italian sausage, altough it was good as is, I think prosciutto would make it ahhh hmmmm perfect! Made it again and added Prosciutto - ahhh, was soooo perfect!

Vanilla Glaze

After reading many reviews, I made this adding a tablespoon of milk and one of corn syrup. I noticed after making it that I melted my butter on low and mixed in the other ingredients and kept it on low mixing it for 2-3 minutes. The recipe didn't mention to heat it but it turned out great. I poured it hot over a recipe from this site : Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

This was good, I added about 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic to the recipe. Next time I'll make the pieces of dough bigger, the size of golf balls 'cause all those little pieces were a lot of trouble for the end result... it does turn out into one big chunk.

Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)

WOW, this was really great. As per many reviews, I doubled the filling and added apples. When done cooking, I sliced in the pan and poured hot vanilla glaze between slices and on top... A-MA-ZING!!!

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

I made this recipe following AbeLincolns' review because to me, tossing in carrots & potatoes in to have a complete meal in 15 minutes of preparation was great for a busy week night... and it was: very tasty and juicy, lots of flavors! I will make this again but next time, I'll add the veggies after an hour of cooking or so... Very good & sooo simple!

Ham Breakfast Braid

Hmmmm, This was an awesome way to use leftover ham. After reading reviews, I only added 4 green onions and 1/2 red pepper chopped. I basted the top with an egg and sprinkled sesame seeds. I served it for supper with a salad.... see my picture, this would look great on a table for brunch! Oh and I made two at once, my first I cooked at 375 and it was very dark after only 15 min so I cooked the second at 350 for 25 min and it turned out perfect! I posted a picture of a drawing I made for my mom of how I put it together because many seemed to have trouble with it.

Easy Mexican Casserole

After reading reviews, I tried this with some changes; Instead of tortilla chips, I used flour tortillas, in two layers, like a lasagna. I cooked the groud beef with garlic, green onions and a pack of taco powder, and I added a can of corn and 7-8 slices of finely chopped jalapeno to the recipe. So I put it together as follows, flour tortillas, 1/2 meat mixture, 1/2 sour cream, 1/2 tomatoes & green onions, repeat layering and top with mexican shredded cheese. Although I love black olives, next time I'll leave them out of this recipe.

Real Poutine

I'm from Québec where poutine was invented, so if you don't like it here, you're like an alien... I've finally found my kind of poutine, MY way - try this: FRIES, OKA CHEESE AND PEPPER SAUCE (canned from St-Hubert is the best for this if you can find it) This way I love it!!!

Mediterranean Pasta

This recipe was just ok for me... The only change I made to the original recipe was to add the bacon at the end. I think it would make a better cold pasta salad... but that's my taste. I think I'll try the leftovers cold.

I've been making this recipe for many years, and transformed it to my taste along the way. Instead of the onions, peppers and tomato, I use an avocado, a finely chopped green onion, sliced black olives and baby shrimps...hmmm!!!

Spicy Chipotle Turkey Burgers

I made this burger according to the recipe and served it with mayo, mozzarella, tomato and lettuce, it was good but was missing an I don't know what... maybe a bit of BBQ sauce. I don't know what sauce people put in this burger... any suggestions??? My second attempt with the leftovers: I added BBQ sauce on the bun and used Swiss cheese instead of Mozza, made all the difference!

Tender Tomato Chicken Breasts

It was ok-good, I cooked it in the slow cooker for 3 hours, cut up the chicken, added the frozen vegetables and cooked for 2 more hours. I served it on rice.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Hmmmm, and very unexpected. Am not too fond of beans but I absolutely LOVED this recipe. It was too large for my slow cooker so I made it in the oven, 3hrs at 350, then in the fridge overnight, next day I cut up the chicken and back in the oven at 350 for 2 hours. In Québec, we can't find tomatoes with chilies so I put in about 10-15 slices of jalapenos, chopped finely and used one pack of Old ElPasso taco seasoning and replaced the chili beans with baby red beans bacause again, I couldn't find them... served with Kraft Mexican cheese, low fat sour cream and tortillas.... de-li-cious ... a sure bet after a long day outside playing in the snow !!!
