About this Cook
Veterinary Technician
My favorite things to cook
At this point...I'll try anything! I'm not too picky. As long as the ingredients are cheap, I'm there.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas and Thanksgiving! Christmas: the cookies....Thanksgiving: TONS of different foods!
My cooking triumphs
I made this awesome chicken the other night using my own creativity...I was so proud!
My cooking tragedies
Recently, some experimentation with my sourdough starter has definitely turned out just that...experimental.

Roasted and Curried Butternut Squash Soup
Pretty good and easy. My 3yo loved it.

Flavorful Flounder For the Oven
I added a little dill and garlic powder like many reviews suggested. Capers would be good with this as well. I didn't measure everything exactly, and I didn't weigh the flounder. I had four filets. This was absolutely delicious. I will definitely make this again and again. Easy dinner!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I'm sure if you make it exactly as written, it's amazing. I personally attempted to make it a bit healthier and it was really good! I used applesauce instead of oil, 1 cup whole wheat and 2 1/2 cups unbleached white flour, used 1 teaspoon of each spice, used 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. I made these for a playgroup and everyone loved them and asked for the recipe! I probably could have cut down the sugar even more and probably will next time.
