Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
I loved this soup! Used less vegtable stock, per other reviewers suggestion. Added some cayenne for extra kick. Thanks Dee Dee!

Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
This recipe is amazing! I love, love, love mushrooms and I think I've found my all-time favorite recipe. I used baby bellas (its what I had) and served with oven baked brown rice and a morningstar grillers prime veggie burger for a flavorful and healthy meal!!

Ethiopian Cabbage Dish

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Yummy! I love cabbage and was looking for a new, creative way to prepare the dish. I think I've found it! I didn't have any tumeric or cumin so I used curry powder instead and added til it suited my taste. I've had it wrapped in tortillas and alongside brown rice...and its yummy all around!

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
My new fave way to cook my steak! I seasoned steak with garlic salt and black pepper, added some worchestire sauce and poured garlic butter mixture over top, wrapped in foil and baked at 400 for 20 mins or so. Next time will use a better cut of meat, as it wasn't super flavorful...but overall a keeper!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
This recipe was very good and very easy! I doubled the sauce for four chops, marinated about 8 hours and cooked chops in the marinade. I would have liked the chops to be little more tender but I was multi-tasking and didn't check them sooner...still great though!

Love, love, love this recipe! I've made it twice already in the past week. Even my picky 5-yr-old ate it all up!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
OMG...these cookies are great! Followed the recipe to the "T" with the exception of the walnuts, just my preference, they turned out wonderful, my second batch is in the oven right now. My first try at chocolate chip cookies and I've found a keeper!

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I made a mess of this wonderful recipe! I didn't have buttermilk but used the reviewers suggestionf od milk/vinegar but I don't think my chicken got pasty enough (I missed the covering with damp paper towels step) and I didn't drain on a rack, hence very oily/wet, not very crispy chicken. I also think I put too many in my pan at time, since I was only frying only a few I didn't want to do two batches, big mistake. I will definitely try again. On a good note the seasonings were just right!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
These mushrooms were definitely mouth-watering! I made these as part of our 5 course mother's day dinner. Made as is with the exception of the addition of crabmeat...it was a hit! Will definitely be making again and again.

Marinated Chuck Roast

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
Loved this marinade! I marinaded for 20 hrs and overall thought the taste was good and the meat tender. Thought it was a tad bit too vinegary and will next reduce the amount.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
I loved this quiche!!! I recently began the south beach diet and wanted something that's a quick breakfast fix and decided to try this recipe. I did make some substitutions, used green onions and added minced garlic and mushrooms to the saute step and used 2 cups cheddar and mozzarella cheese. YUMMY...will definitely make again.

Spinach Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2003
I tried this recipe last night and it was great...the leftovers are even better (had it for breakfast and lunch). I made several substitutions as I was orginally using another recipe when I decided halfway through that I did not like it so I used a homemade crust instead of the crescent roles, used fat free milk for the half and half and omitted the sauce. It was still divine...even my picky boyfriend loved it...will definitely try again as is.
