Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2003
With a scoop of icecream...MMM, YUM! I loved the cruncy topping and not too sweet apple filling. This is better than any Dutch apple pie you can buy from a grocery store.

Just like the one ordered at Chinese restaurants! I added a few drops of sesame oil after turning off the heat. Great easy soup recipe. Thanks!

Soba with Toasted Sesame Seed Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2003
If you want to eat a healthy dish, you've got one here! The dressing is very good; subtly sweet and nice addition of sesame and sesame oil. I also added cooked and cubed chicken and chopped mango. This turned out to be a healthy yet hearty meal itself. I became a fan of soba noodles.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2003
This is the best honey mustard dressing that I have ever made and tasted! It goes well with almost any kind of salad. I think this recipe is better than a store-bought dressing or in a restaurant.

Baked Walnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
I couldn't stop eating these walnuts! Instead of using butter, I coated the walnuts with butter-flavored baking spray. They still taste great.

Orange Almond Biscotti II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
Oh so good! This recipe got me hooked on biscotti. I used dried cranberries instead of almonds. I baked the first time for 30 minutes. They got crispy. Very flavorful and coloful cookies. I drizzled white chocolate for decoration. Thanks for the great recipe!

Lemon Meltaways

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Very delicate cookies! I made my cookies a bit smaller, and we just couldn't stop eating them! We really love the frosting. I personally would like more lemon flavor, but I will be baking these cookies again really soon...

Choco-Raspberry Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2004
I really liked the combination of chocolate and raspberry. They were kind of too sweet to my family's taste, though.

Taking the other reviewer's comment, I doubled the amount of chili sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Very easy and good. My husband really liked it.

Marinated Ranch Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2003
Pretty Good! I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and white vinegar. I only had 21/2 hours to marinate the chicken, but the chicken tasted very flavorful. Easy and great for a weekday menu.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
I wanted to give three stars, but because of the crust, I rate four stars. I did not want to use too much ingredients in filling; they would overpower the natural taste of peach. So, I just mix lemon juice, cornstarch, 1 cup of sugar, and peach for filling. The crust was very good. Next time, I would use 1/2 cup of shortening and 1/2 cup of butter to give more flavor.

BBQ Cola Meatballs

Reviewed: May 16, 2004
It turned out to be pretty darn good meatballs! I took a short-cut by using precooked meatballs, but the sauce was great just using minimum ingredients. More kid-friendly taste than for grown-ups, I guess.

Alfredo Light

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2004
Great recipe! Didn't taste like it's light version of Alfredo. I added mushroom, asparagus, and shrimp to complete this pasta dish. Next time I would put more garlic.

Szechuan Spicy Eggplant

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2003
Not as bad as I had expected. I reduce the amount of soysauce as the other reviewers suggested. So the dish was not salty but seemed to lack something. Next time I would add more chili sauce. Good with steamed rice.

Cuban Black Beans II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2003
Wow, very good! I had a bag of red kidney beans, so I used them instead of black beans. Other than that I did not change anything, and it was so good over rice. Just right amount of seasoning. Thanks for the recipe!

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
Used chicken thighs. I also cooked them on the stove top. Browned the flour-coated chicken and sliced onions. Simmered with the rest of the sauce ingredients for about 45 mins. Might want to reduce the soy sauce a bit; it can be a little salty. Great with rice.
