Sweet Potato Surprise

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
I totally agree with other reviewers; it called for too much sugar. I used only half of the amount of sugars. The direction might be needed more in detail, for I didn't know what to do with the bananas (mashed or just sliced?). It tasted good, though. Can't stop eating this.

Hershey®'s Special Dark® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2004
It's good, but not spectacular. Best when they are still warm, but once cooled down, mmmm just average.

Blueberry Crisp I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2004
More like a cobbler recipe. I reduced the amount of sugar to 1/2 cups (total of 1 cup) each, yet it was still too sweet. I also added one more cup of blueberries. Great with ice cream!

Baked Walnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
I couldn't stop eating these walnuts! Instead of using butter, I coated the walnuts with butter-flavored baking spray. They still taste great.

BBQ Cola Meatballs

Reviewed: May 16, 2004
It turned out to be pretty darn good meatballs! I took a short-cut by using precooked meatballs, but the sauce was great just using minimum ingredients. More kid-friendly taste than for grown-ups, I guess.

Alfredo Light

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2004
Great recipe! Didn't taste like it's light version of Alfredo. I added mushroom, asparagus, and shrimp to complete this pasta dish. Next time I would put more garlic.

Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2004
Very basic pot roast recipe. Having read the other reviews that said "bland," first I rubbed the meat with salt, pepper, and thyme. I also added garlic, sugar, worcestershire sauce along with veggies and seasonings. Finally I thickened the gravy with corn starch. Using the good quality of meat, this recipe got good reviews from my family.

Baked Tilapia in Garlic and Olive Oil

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
I had never had tilapia before. Very good recipe of nicely marinated fish. I added some Italian seasoning when marinating the fish. Served with lemon wedges, this fish dish is going to be our keeper. Thanks for the recipe!

As the name says, it is very fudgy and very very RICH. A little slice goes a long way...

This is the best sweetpotato pie I have ever tasted! Sweet potato was very creamy, and I loved the pecan topping. Would make this again.

Szechuan Spicy Eggplant

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2003
Not as bad as I had expected. I reduce the amount of soysauce as the other reviewers suggested. So the dish was not salty but seemed to lack something. Next time I would add more chili sauce. Good with steamed rice.

Just like the one ordered at Chinese restaurants! I added a few drops of sesame oil after turning off the heat. Great easy soup recipe. Thanks!

Cuban Black Beans II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2003
Wow, very good! I had a bag of red kidney beans, so I used them instead of black beans. Other than that I did not change anything, and it was so good over rice. Just right amount of seasoning. Thanks for the recipe!

Soy Sauce Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2003
As the other reviewer suggested, I decreased soy sauce to only one tablespoon and increased the rice to 3/4 cup. Oh, I also added chopped garlic when sauteing vegetables. Just enough seasoning, but still soupy for our family.

Marinated Ranch Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2003
Pretty Good! I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and white vinegar. I only had 21/2 hours to marinate the chicken, but the chicken tasted very flavorful. Easy and great for a weekday menu.

Florentine Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2003
Tasted like a dish called chicken divan but with a twist. I cooked chicken first, and it took about 30 minutes in the oven until it got bubbly and heated through.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2003
Broling must be the best method to cook scallops! I used chopped fresh garlic and parsely, and substituted bay scallops with jumbo sea scallops. Light and very flavorful dish! Keep an eye on the scallops while broling; you don't want to overcook them.

It was O.K. to me. Needs to be spiced up little bit, such as pepper, garlic, or ginger.
