Baby BLT

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
Made this for a New Year's Eve party last night. It was simple to make. I took some of the other reviewer's suggestions and used half mayo and half cream cheese. I substituted cilantro for the parsley. (personal preference) And I cheated with the bacon and used Hormel bacon bits. They were very good, and were eaten up very quickly. Thanks for a great appetizer.

Salami, Cream Cheese, and Pepperoncini Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
I made this recipe for an "end of the world party" last night. Fortunately the world didn't end, but these appetizers didn't survive! They went quick. People loved 'em. I made some exactly as the recipe was written. And I made some with a few changes. Very versatile recipe. Thanks!

Cherry Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I doubled this recipe and made it exactly as written, except I cut in cold butter in the topping instead of using melted margarine. I thought it was very good. I also prefer it cold, out of the refrigerator. Yum!

Croutons

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
I cubed the bread, put it in a bowl and drizzled in the melted butter. Added garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Tossed with a fork, spread on a preheated baking sheet and baked for 17 minutes. (perfect for my oven) They were awesome. I'll never buy croutons again. Thank you!!!

Sausage Sauerkraut Supper

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
I thought this was really good. I followed the recipe as closely as I could. I did make one addition. I diced up an apple and added it to the onion and garlic step. My grocery store didn't have fresh polish sausage, so I used fully cooked smoked sausage. I also used bagged sauerkraut from the refrigerated section. That's just a personal preference. I did use 1 1/2 cups of white wine. I think that adds a subtle sweetness. It was simple to prepare. My wife loved it too. And as a bonus... it's great cold, the next day right out of the fridge. Thanks for sharing this one. It's a keeper!

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
This was pretty good. I've made it a couple of times, and will make it again. It seems to dry out rather quickly, so I add some extra thousand island dressing, or even a little bit of water during the event just to keep it creamy. If you like reuben sandwiches, you'll like this.

Tomato Bisque III

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
Mmm Mmm good? It was better than that! I've been looking for a recipe like this for a while, and am glad I found this one. I don't like tomato soup that comes from a can. And this was really good. I made this recipe exactly as written with the exception of one thing. I added 1/2 teaspoon of ground red pepper at the end, for a little bit of heat. Just a personal preference. Either way, this one's a winner! Thanks for posting.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I thought it was very good. It wasn't too sweet for me. I added red and green bell peppers for color. I did not add carrots. Next time maybe I'll add a little jalapeƱo for some kick.

Banana Macadamia Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
This bread wasn't what I expected it to be. I was looking for a traditional banana bread. It was more like a regular loaf of bread. I guess it was the yeast. I should have known that. However, it tasted very good. It was moist and had a nice banana flavor. Just not what I was looking for.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
This is a great recipe because it's easy to customize, and easy to prepare. Tweak it the way you like it, and you won't be disappointed. For instance, I left out the rosemary, parsley, and celery. I added fresh thyme (chopped fine), and used seasoned flour to coat the meat before browning, and also to help thicken the stew. It's all about personal preference, and this one's a winner! Thanks Paula

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2003
This was my first attempt at a graham cracker crust. It was very easy, and very fast. I added the optional cinnamon. The amount of cinnamon was just enough to give the crust a special flavor without overpowering. Thanks Carol.

Angel's Chunky Chicken Salad

I thought this was very good. It tastes the way I think chicken salad should taste. I did change the amounts of some of the ingredients, based on personal prefs. Quick, easy, and tasty. What else could you ask for?
