Shepherd's Pie VI

Hmm, don't know what I did wrong, but I found this very bland. I see that a lot of people added more seasonings to the meat, but just reviewing the recipe as is: bland. The only thing I changed was using roasted garlic instead of onion in the potatoes and a bit more butter and cheese than called for. Maybe I didn't salt the potatoes enough? It tastes flat to me.

Chicken Pot Pie VI

"Best pot pie I ever saw" and "better than mom's" were just a couple of comments I got on this dish. The cheese is like a secret ingredient. You can't really tell it's there, but it gives a wonderful texture and flavor. The frozen veggie mix I used had corn, baby carrots and asparagus, which was fantastic. The asparagus really added something. (I didn't have any mushrooms, but I'll use them next time if I have some.) I will be making this again soon!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

These are awesome! I have made them many times and always get comments on them. I have tried various additions, but the one thing I consistently add is shredded cheese. I always stir some in and then sprinkle some extra on the top. You can make these ahead and microwave them before serving, and they're still great.

Pumpkin Cheesecake in a Gingersnap Crust

I will definitely make this again. It was pretty easy and quite tasty. It isn't too sweet at all, so it's ideal if you like milder desserts. Although I felt I overbaked it a little, everyone I served it to loved it. If you like pumpkin at all, you should love this.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Oh my gosh, this is awesome. I had only made fried chicken once before and it was bland and blah. On my second try, the combination of my new iron skillet and this recipe produced fried chicken as good as any I've EVER HAD. I loved the flavor of the gravy made with the chicken seasoning (though my husband wasn't so crazy about it). I highly recommend this.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

This dip is awesome! It is so easy to make and it tastes great. I've served it a few times, and everyone likes it. The recipe suggests eating it with tortilla chips, but I don't know about that. I always have it with crackers. I tried it with lowfat versions of the ingredients and it was just as good.

Warm Blue Cheese Dip with Garlic and Bacon

I tried out this recipe as possible dish for a party and decided to go with a slightly milder flavored dip that would appeal to everyone. This dip is rather strong, but if you like blue cheese it is great. We loved it with crackers, and I would definitely like to make it again. Nothing smells better than bacon and garlic cooking!
