Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I use five Tablespoons of sugar to the bread recipe and add at least a teaspoon and a half of cinnamon as well. When this comes out of the bread machine, I let it rise for an hour in a warm place after I've swirled the butter and brown sugar into the dough and it allows for the bread to rise. Wonderful recipe. I've made it three times now (making 6 loaves.) I'm going to experiment with whole wheat flour next time. Thanks for the recipe!

No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Everyone liked this - even my 6 year olds. I added shrimp to it and put some feta on the adults' dishes. We loved it. Alot of prep work but all the ingredients are pretty much always on hand so it's convenient. Yummy!

I followed the recipe pretty much with the exception of using half Crisco and half butter. I also added a half a teaspoon of baking powder. AMAZING cookies. I baked at 350 for 12 minutes. YUMMY!

Crab Stuffed Manicotti

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
What a unique way to do manicotti! My kids liked this dish and my hubby raved, too. I didn't have any fresh crab on hand, but had a fish filet leftover that had a crab stuffing in it and so I chopped that up and used it with the filling. Also, didn't have big shells or manicotti noodles so layered it like a lasagna. Was great tasting! I'll make this again.

Easy, Eggless Strawberry Ice Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Good recipe - but way too vanilla-ey for me. I'd leave the vanilla out all together next time. All I could taste was the vanilla. The ice cream came out nicely, however, the consistency and taste was still good. I just wanted a very berry taste and the addition of the vanilla took away from the berry taste completely.

Spaghetti Squash Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
Amazing. Got rave reviews from even my five year old!! I added a sprinkle of garlic powder to this and didn't have monterey jack cheese, so I used cheddar. It was phenomenal! Also, I microwaved the mixed ingredients because I wanted it done quickly. This was SO much like artichoke dip! Thanks for the unique recipe!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
What an incredible recipe. As a cookie dough fanatic, I loved that this recipe didn't have the raw eggs! Alot safer and the kids still get to lick the beaters. I didn't change a thing with this recipe for my first batch - the second time around I refrigerated the dough before cooking which helped to make the cookies thicker. Also - make sure to let the cookies sit on the cookie sheet a couple of minutes before taking them off. This will prevent the "crumble factor." Loved these!!! Will make these again!

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2004
These are so phenomenal!!! I can't believe how good and chewy these were. I made them with salt and with cinnamon/splenda mix. Both are awesome. I'm going to make this into a tradition at our house - maybe once a month. The kids will love to knead the dough and it only takes 8 minutes, so it's a very good recipe for them. Didn't take that long from start to finish, so it's a quick reward for the little ones. The taste is just like a mall pretzel - maybe even better since I like the dough-ey nature of them and I made them extra fat by not stretching them as much. You can make these into all sorts of fun shapes as well, twisty breadsticks or maybe a double heart for valentine's day. Very fun!!! Thank you!! To those whose pretzels didn't turn out right, I'm wondering if you used the right temp of water. Yeast can be a fickle thing - make sure your water is the right temp and let your dough rise in a semi-warm place for the FULL hour. The investment is worth it! Also, I only had bread flour on hand - so I used all 4 cups of it and it worked beautifully.

Mediterranean Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2004
This is the best chicken recipe! It tastes just like something you'd get at an Italian restaurant (Papa Vino's Parmesean Chicken). I add mozzerella after the chicken is cooked and serve with a side of tomato sauce. I could eat this chicken dish every week. The fresh basil makes it fantastic! I use the leftover egg mixture and crumb mixture to coat zucchini and fry them up after - makes yummy zucchini sticks as a side dish! Oh, I use half olive oil and half vegetable oil just to mellow out the flavor. This is SOOO good. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Oh, one more thing, I also flattened the chicken breasts with a mallet between two sheets of saran wrap before I coated them. The texture and thickness is perfect that way. You could also butterfly them. (Just gets more of the yummy crumb mixture on it then, yummy!!!)

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2004
Fantastic! To puff up the zucchini a bit, I added some baking powder, just like in potato pancakes. I made these for my DH who is low-carbing it instead of making potato pancakes. You couldn't even tell the difference. They are fantastic - serve them with sour cream (my fav) or applesauce (an old German tradition with potato pancakes.) I shallow-fried these first then finished off in a 425 oven for about 10 minutes. Yummy!!!

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2004
Fantastic! I added some italian dressing and lemon juice to the marinade, then grilled the chicken breasts I used. I put butter and cut-up onions in a crock-pot beforehand, let them cook nicely, then grilled the chicken early in the day. I then put the cut-up chicken breast over the onions and put the crock pot on "keep warm" until dinner time. My hubby raved! These were fantastic. I would have used peppers as well in the crock pot but I didn't have any in my fridge. Thanks for the recipe! Yummy!!!

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2004
This was good! I did what another poster suggested and used 8 oz. of cream cheese at the bottom, I mixed mine with Splenda first to give it additional sweetness. I would only add 3/4 c. to the rhubarb/strawberry mixture, though. It was a touch on the too-sweet side (the actual strawberry-rhubarb mix part.) The crust was great with the addition of the cream cheese, and it was not in the least bit soggy. Just make sure to cool it before you cut into it - maybe that's what the other person didn't do? Patience will be rewarded with a nice easy-to-slice pie!

Glasser's Greek Marlin

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2004
DH and I loved this recipe. I pan fried the Marlin first in the butter/garlic mixture, then grilled for the rest of the time. I added sun dried tomatoes and feta to the mix after and let simmer. I served it with greek salad and it was a hit! Thanks!

French Toast Stars

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2004
Just made these this morning, but didn't add the orange zest because of time. I used day-old Hawaiian bread cut in sticks (they were leftover from the dip last night for the Superbowl) and it was great! I fried them in a thin layer of vegetable oil and they were perfect. I like to sprinkle the cinnamon on while cooking to get it more evenly distributed. These tasted like restaurant quality french toast sticks! Yum!
