Meringue Kisses III

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2003
These are great. I had been buying meringue cookies at the grocery store for $5 a package--these are so much cheaper to make and taste a lot better!! I suggest making them before bed and leaving them to dry until morning (don't forget to turn off the oven!!), because mine were not dryed out after 20 minutes.

Less Fat Gingersnaps

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
These cookies tasted great but I had a hard time trying to work with the dough. First of all, I think using less applesauce would help--because the dough is very moist, and impossible to roll into balls. I ended up just plopping spoonfulls of it on a cookie sheet. It might also help to refrigerate the dough as well. Second of all, I wanted chewy cookies so I baked them for less time--this left me with cookies that fell apart when I tried to remove them. I decied to put them in for longer and make crisper cookies--but this proved to be even more of a challenge. I couldn't even the the things off the cookie sheet they stuck so well. They're reallly tasty--but I'm not sure if it's worth all the effort.

Brownie Oat Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2003
I'm surprised these cookies scored so low, I was almost detered from making them. They're actually quite good. There not exactly moist, but I still liked the texture. Extremely easy to make, too! Will try again.

Oat Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2003
These muffins turned out pretty good. I used 1/2 white and 1/2 wheat flour. I also increased the sugar to 2/3 cup--this turned out to be the perfect amount. Try baking these for 25 minutes first, because it took mine less than 30 minutes to bake. Will make again.

These tasted great! They gave me a horrible stomache ache though. =(

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2003
This bread is pretty good. I used applesauce instead of oil to make it low-fat. It still turned out moist. Next time I think I'll bake it for less time though, the outside turned out tough and chewy. Otherwise...pretty good!

Egg-Free Low-Fat Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2003
I really liked these cookies. They're pretty good for low fat. My parents even ate them and they usually hate anything low-fat I make. I ended up using 1 cup of appleasauce. I omitted the nuts but added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. This recipe is a keeper.

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2003
I couldn't be more pleased with the way this recipe turned out. This muffins did not taste low-fat at all. Instead of using just blueberries, I used frozed berry medly that comes in a bag (blueberrries, respberries, blackberries, and strawberries.) I had to cut up the berries a little, but it worked great. Had kind of a cobbler taste to it. Will definitely make again.

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2003
This bread came out perfect! I was suprised how moist it turned out--and the texture was wonderful. I used 1/2 white and 1/2 wheat flour, and added 1 tsp. of vanilla and 1/4 tsp. of salt as recommended. This is probably the best low fat recipe I've ever made. Will definitely be making again.

Maple Meringues

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2003
This was my first time making meringue cookies. Mine turned out hollow inside. I may have done something wrong. I didn't care all that much for the chewy texture, but they tasted okay. Don't think I would make them again though.
