Fruit Pie Crumb Topping

One of the things that make a good recipe, for me, is adaptability. This a great topping recipe for all sorts of baked things!! I use it to top muffins..depending on the flavor of the muffin - I have added different finely chopped nuts and/or cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and substituted brown sugar for white sugar. Cut it in with a pastry cutter and it is an easy addition to your one other gal said, make sure you are generous with the amount on top...the muffins spread out as they rise and bake.

I have made this dish for my husband many times is one of his favorites!! Last night I added one can of the Progresso White Clam Sauce instead of the minced clams and it was great! Added a richness to the flavor. Make sure you have extra bread to soak up the juice!!
