Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
I made this in my bread machine. The only change I made was 3 Tbsp brown sugar and 1 Tbsp white, and I added 1 tsp. ground nutmeg. I used sweet potaots I grew in my garden. I think those who said they were not as orange colored as they anticipated maybe used canned sweet potatos. Mine were very orange, absolutely gorgeous! I served with honey butter. This is a wonderful recipe and a great use for sweet potatos.

Moist Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2006
I am actually writing this review hoping to get some tips from others. This recipe had a great dough texture (I like my sticky buns to be realy yeasty and soft not like bread) and the flavor was very good, but I ran into the problem I always do when I make cinnamon pecan sticky bun type stuff. Too Dry! not enough of the sticky stuff. So should I just triple the sauce recipe or something to make it more gooey? Other than that nice recipe, easy but time consuming. Thanks. Update Dec. 5 2006: This is a great dough recipe but I use the caramel recipe on "Cinnamon Rolls I" posted on this site. I double the caramel recipe and use pecans rather than walnuts. Great!

This a delicious, MOIST date nut cake. I never thought I would find one! The only change I made was I substituted 1/2 C. of the water for 1/2 C. brandy. This made it awesome! Yummmmmmmy! Thank you for submitting this recipe. Susan in NC

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
Unbelievable! So incredibly good. Only thing I did different was add 1/2 C molasses. Cooked it for 8 hours on high in crock pot. I did not know that pork butt came with a bone so I was a bit leary of using the cooking sauce on sandwiches due to possible bone fragments, something to be aware of. Delicious, tender, easy to prep. Served with Apple coleslaw.

Squash Braid

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
This recipe is fabulous! I grow butternut squash and have 3 bushels to use. Though I freeze a great deal of it to use through the Winter, this is exactly the type of recipe I was looking for, something to use butternut for that is unique, pretty and delicious. I made it in my bread machine to dough stage, then took it out let it rest 15 minutes after punching down. Mine had a tone of air bubbles in it but I soon discovered that is what made this the lightest most tender danish style dough I have ever eaten. Roll it out to a roughly 16x12 inch rectangle, dont try and work out all the bubbles. Spread with 1/2 stick softened butter. Mix 1/2 c brown sugar, 1/3 c raisins, 1/3 c finely chopped nuts, 1/8 c. orange juice. Spread this mixture over buttered dough, roll up fairly tight, twist and shape into circle on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 till med golden brown. I also replaced the 2 Tbsp of water in the recipe with 2 Tbsp orange juice. Unbelievable, thank you for submitting this recipe.

Pecan Pie VII

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2004
Very nice recipe, I like the custard texture better than the syrupie one I usually get with pecan pies. I dont agree with another reviewer about too many pecans, but I love pecans. My bottom crust did not cook and it took about 1 1/2 hours to set but I think a glass pie plate would resolve that I used a foil one. Great pie.

Pull-Apart Hot Cross Buns

Really nice flavor, Came out huge, would make them much smaller cause due to size it was a lot of roll for little frosting. Dried out considerable next day.

Slow Cooker Cheese Steaks

Well, I tried this and it was not to my liking! The meat was dry, tough and tasteless. I made only two sandwiches and couldn't eat more. Don't make this just go to a good sub shop.

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
I have made this recipe and "Moist Cinnamon Rolls" from this site. I like the dough part on Moist Cinnamon Rolls better but love this caramel version. Instead of ice cream I use 1/2 C. heavy cream and I double the recipe also adding pecans. It is great. Sorry, this dough version just isn't to my liking.
