Amazing garlic bread! I had to use a loaf of cuban bread because it was what I had on hand and it was fantastic! Best combination ever...thank you!!!

Baby BLT

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
These went over very well at the Christmas party this year. One person even ate about 15 of them! However, I would have liked another layer of flavor. I loved the combo of veggies and bacon, but may try what a few others have and use half mayo and half cream cheese (possibly garden vegetable). I'll look into using real bacon bits too. If I make these changes, I'll be sure to comment on them, good or bad.

Party Pinwheels

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Love this recipe!!! Got a lot of rave reviews at the Christmas party. The one thing I need to work on is my presentation. Mine weren't as pretty as some in the pictures, but I'm learning. Definitely chill these babies in the fridge first to keep them rounder when cutting. Now, if only I can get the nice, tight roll down...

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
It just gets better and better each year! To fill my round crockpot, I use 5lbs of Russett potatoes. The morning it is to be served, I add pats of real butter and pour in some milk and stir & set it on low for 3-4 hours. This year I used whole milk and it made a world of difference--we usually have only non-fat milk in our house.

Coconut Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Amazing pie!!! Quick, easy, and delicious!!! I give it 5 stars following the recipe and 5+ stars with a few changes...I used 2qty 3 oz instant coconut cream pudding mixes instead of vanilla, made sure to use 2 cups of whole milk (we only drink non-fat in our house...whole milk was much better), toasted a 7oz bag of sweetened coconut flakes (added flakes to the pudding/milk/whip cream mixture without measuring and used the rest on top). The pie shell I used was Mrs. Smith from the freezer section...Follow the baking directions in package to be sure it won't bubble up on you. I also waited just until serving to add topping of whip cream and toasted coconut so it wouldn't get damaged while in the fridge.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Easy, easy, easy and great flavor. I've made it 2x so far. The 2nd time I wasn't as careful measuring the mayo and ended up adding a little too much. I noticed because I'm not a big mayo fan, but it was still good. I'll be sure to be more accurate while measuring the mayo because it was a better balance of flavors the 1st time. I also used 1 cup of freshly grated parmesan and 1/2 cup of Panko. Nice addition of flavor and texture to the crust.

You've Gotta Be Kidding Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
This is such a great recipe! I've only had the opportunity to make it twice, but plan on making it again soon. The first time I used regular mayonnaise and loved it (and so did everyone else that tried it!). The second time I tried the "healthier" olive oil mayo and was disappointed. It just didn't taste the same. I'll stick with the regular mayo from now on.

Queenie's Killer Tomato Bagel Sandwich

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
I LOVE this recipe! It's so refreshing and light. Very healthy choice along side all the other holiday fare. The best tomato I've found is the "Campari" tomato. Yummy!!! I've found them at Publix next to the grape tomatoes. They're in a small plastic container too. Perfect tomato to go with this dish.

Macaroni And Cheese II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
I sometimes make a mac'n cheese using the cheddar soup as well, but I like this one better. The one thing I will still do, however, is use cheddar flavored fried onions on top.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
We LOVE this recipe! I used hot Italian sausage instead of ground beef and added garlic to the onion. I used Ragu's Chunky Tomato, Garlic and Onion spaghetti sauce. I prefer it's sweeter taste to the other saltier sauces. I also loved the idea of using a pasta with ridges to "hold" the sauce, so I used mostaccioli pasta. No matter how many times I've tried Ricotta, I end up with the same opinion...It's just not for me. I do, however, love the sour cream. Thanks for making it a part of your recipe Colleen. Reading the reviews, I decided to layer the dish with pasta, meat sauce, provolone, sour cream, pasta, mozzarella, meat sauce, and Parmesan...and cover with aluminum foil. BTW, we did try it following the original recipe, but prefer the changes made because it suits our family's tastes better. Thanks for sharing Colleen!

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
This is the only way to make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving! Not only does it save you time on Thanksgiving day, but it tastes great as well. Even better, I keep mine in a crockpot and reheat on low after adding butter and milk. Now my oven is free for the turkey and stuffing!

BLT Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
I love the idea of a BLT wrap, but try as I might, I can't get mine to look or taste as good as the original BLT on plain white bread. It is good, however, I like the regular better.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Yummm! My youngest son loves anything made with pumpkin so I let him make this with my guidance. Easy as pie and it tasted great! He claimed the pumpkin fluff dip as his contribution to our Thanksgiving table from this year on.

Soda Cracker Cookies

I had hoped I would like this better, but it just didn't appeal to me or my family. I like the idea so I'll keep looking for something similiar...maybe with a different cracker.
