I am right at home in the kitchen, whether it's for just my husband and me or the whole family. There's nothing like that pleasant arome coming from the oven in a country farmhouse. I'm fairly typical with my cooking. My favorite meal is Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, but I also make a great spaghetti sauce. Being in the kitchen and creating tasty meals makes for a very happy husband. My reward is seeing his appreciation for the fruits of my labors. I have a penchant for yeast breads and rolls and actually won a blue ribbon for my cinnamon rolls. I'm just a down home woman who enjoys my role in keeping my familywell fed and content. I especially love to make jams and jellies in the summer months. Elderberries which are plentiful around here make a wonderful spread for homemade bread. Also I grow red raspberries and I have several sour cherry trees. I've haven't really had any tragedies but I would like a good chocolate chip cookie recipe that doesn't go flat in the pan.
