Cherry Tomatoes Filled with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Served these for a tea party yesterday. I was a bit worried that my guests would not care much for them but they were the first thing to go. Obviously I will need to make more next time. Even with the tip from another reviewer to use a serrated grapefruit spoon hulling the tomatoes did take a bit of time (about 20 min for 30 tomatoes) but the serrated spoon worked great to not destroy the shape of the tender tomato. Used kitchen shears to snip the basil in tiny pieces without bruising. Also used tip to put cheese mix in ziploc and snip corner for easy filling - this part was a breeze. Thank you for a great recipe.

Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Don't cut beets too small because they shrunk a bit. Cooked beets 20 min then added potato and onion. Next time I will line the pan with foil to make cleanup easier. Thanks for a fantastic recipe. I will add this to my holiday recipe.

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
It doesn't make sense how good these are. During the filling/wrapping process I thought this was too time-consuming BUT after the first one I was hooked. Will cut back on the chili next time. Used shrimp instead of pork. Great recipe..thanks.

Very, very good. Seasoned ground beef to taste. Didn't change anything else. Will definitely make again.

Served at company holiday party. No one drank the sodas etc until this punch had vanished. Thanks for a refreshing recipe.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Excellent. Used in layered tortilla dip and served to Parisians (this is not something they see) and they cleaned the platter.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Excellent. Cut chicken into smaller pieces, skipped bread crumbs, broiled instead of fried. On stove top put together sauce and added pineapple chunks with juice right into sauce. Even added extra pineapple juice and then poured all on top of chicken and back in oven. Served with bulgur chickpea salad from this site. Yummy.

Very good. Gave them to a really finicky 5-yr old and she ate them up. Will definitely make again.

Easy Polenta with Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Very good but next time I'll cut back on the parmesan. A bit too cheesy for me. Still, I won't have to buy polenta at the grocer anymore.

Eggless Tofu Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Absolutely did not work out for me and I love tofu. Could be because I don't like quiche. Won't make again.

Tofu Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Since I like tofu I had a non-tofu eater try it..she said it was good, tasted just like choc pudding except healthier. I am not a choc pudding fan but thought this was exceptional. Will make again and again.

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
CANNOT believe creme brulee is this easy. Used a torch but top was not crispy enough so next time I'll try the broiler.

Orange Sour Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I added orange extract which made it very strong. They were a bit oily for me so next time I'll omit the extract and use less much less butter.

Sun-dried Tomatoes I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I'm giving 5 stars even though these took over 12 hours!!!. Next time I will definitely remove the seeds etc to see if that will cut down on cooking time. Didn't add salt.

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Yum yum yum yum and YUM. Didn't have any bread flour so just used AP. Maybe that's why I had to increase flour to almost 4 cups. Used soy milk in place of water. Used only 1/2 the butter. Next time I will increase the cinnamon/sugar mix. Can't wait to make again.

Scrambled Tofu

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Not as good as I expected but still good enough to try again. If you don't like tofu you may not fancy this. I added about 1/2 tsp turmeric which may have been a bit much.

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
Wonderful. Can't believe so easy. I will not do storebought anymore. The taste was so different than storebought...these didn't taste as artificial. Like others I increased the sage, didn't have marjoram so used a bit of oregano. Added a bit of oil to mixture because I used chicken/turkey instead of pork. Used my cookie cutter and froze the extras uncooked but next time I think I will cook the extras before freezing them.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

I gave this 4 stars because my pancakes were not fluffy at all. I did like the texture but just not sure what went wrong on the fluffiness. Will definitely make again though.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Loved it. Only addition was a bit of cumin which I didn't even notice. Never really liked chicken salad because of the mayo but this was delicious. Made with Tofu Mayo from this site.

Quick Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
It's just not possible for something to be this easy and tasty. Didn't change a thing...but I didn't remove when I turned off the oven so they were a bit more crispy/dried out than I would have liked. I also halved the recipe which was a no-no because they were gone too fast. Thanks for a quick, easy and tasty recipe. Will make again and again.
