About this Cook
I am a 29 year old mom and wife. I have only really been cooking for about 3 years now. I love trying new things and have a solid respect for following a recipe. There is nothing more depressing than cooking for 2 hours and watching someone add ketchup.
My favorite things to cook
I will try cooking anything once. I love to cook on the stove. I am terrified of ovens as you can't really watch something bake. If something goes wrong you don't know until it is too late. I love being hands on in the kitchen, constant stirring and flipping of different things. Things my other half and his family love for me to cook: Pork Chops/ seasoned rice Orange chicken with jasmin rice/mango chutney Steak and potatoes Pasta with Alfredo sauce
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents didn't cook. I was never really wowed by anything they made with one exception: my dad's quiche. The cook in out family is my Aunt Claudia, she makes food that causes family grudges, like her spinach artichoke dip I still hate my cousin for eating it all a few Thanksgivings back. My Aunt is also a cheesecake master and will own anyone in soup making. She is the only woman that can get me to eat my veggies.
My cooking triumphs
Pulled Chicken Sandwiches made from a recipe from Kraft. Not my most complex original dish, but anyone that eats them requests them frequently.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count. I am still a noobie in the kitchen.

Best Ever Spinach Artichoke Dip
I would have rated this 5 stars, but my Aunt does something I cannot quite figure out that makes hers just a bit better. I doubled the recipe but only had a 16 oz. package of spinach so I just used that. I made my own Alfredo (half and half/parm/butter) baked until the edges bubbled and that's it! I can't say it vanished because someone else stuffed everyone with jalapeno poppers before I arrived :( I will make this for every special occasion and will arrive early next time:) *special note to the person that was hatin on the artichoke flavor, IT'S SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP.
