Crust for Veggie Pot Pie

I made this today with veggie pot pie and it was wonderful! Next time I make this (and there will be a next time because this was very yummy) I would maybe add a touch of herbs like basil or parsley (dried) to the dough and maybe some finely shreeded cheese (this works out great if you haven't tried it, add about 1 cup and mix as usual) If you try this recipe you won't be dissapointed! Thanks!

Veggie Pot Pie

This was my first attempt at making a pot pie, and this was wonderful! I omitted the onions due to my taste and sadly took out the mushrooms (due to my husbands taste) but added extra beans and potatoes. This turned out so great, my picky husband said it was like his grandma used to make - and that's a compliment. I would defintely recommend this recipe! Also used 1/8 tsp. garlic powder instead of 1 clove, which was fine. This took me two 1/2 hours to make, but I never rush when I cook...this was a relaxing meal to make! Thanks for the recipe!

O'Brian's Potato Casserole

This was a pretty tasty recipe, but I didn't like it enough to serve at a gathering, it's nothing special. It's fine for home, although I don't know if I'd make it again. My only big complaint is that I checked the back of the hash brown pototes bag (I thought I spotted a new recipe to try) and I did spot a recipe - this very SAME one! The only difference was they asked for 1/4 cup butter, not 1/2, it had the corn flake topping and everything. Picky hubby said it was pretty good.

Cheddar Corn Pancakes

I really liked these, and my husband thought that they were pretty good too, which is a big compliment coming from him. We just had them for breakfast with maple syrup and think that these pancakes would be better showcased at dinner with a mexican/southwestern meal. They reminded me of the corn side dish you get at Chi Chi's ~ which is one of my favorites! I followed the recipe exactly except for we found only a 15 oz. can of corn and used the whole thing (drained as the recipe states). I would maybe at a bit more sugar, but these are definetly a keeper! Thanks for this yummy recipe!

Monster Sour Cream Enchiladas

Maybe I was expecting too much from this recipe, everything souded good and the ratings were great, but yuck. These were way too heavy and rich, all I tasted was the soup. My cheese got gross brown on top too. I think that the cooking time was too long, or the cheese should have only been added in the last ten minutes or something. I was so excited to make these but they were a big waste I felt bad that I had offered them to my poor husband. Will not make again.

Caramel Frosting I

What wonderful frosting! I just made this and it is so delicious (maybe just a tiny bit too sweet for me ~ but I love it anyway) I made some nutmeg bars that turned out more like a sheet cake and found this frosting for it and it's perfect! I doubled the recipe since my "cake" was in a 9 by 13 by 2 pan ... I was in a bit of a hurry and forgot to add the vanilla and it still is great, if you like caramel this is the frosting for you!

Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies

These are nice cookies if you like real gingerbread. My picky husband who requested gingerbread cookies did not really like these, he said they were too strong and sweet. I said, that's what gingerbread is! I would probably not make these again due to my families preference but this is a good recipe, give it a try!

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

This recipe was wonderful! Thanks so much! My husband is the biggest pancake critic and he liked them enough to say, you can make these again! Anyway the only minor problem I had with the recipe was the temp. setting, it was too low for my electric griddle, I would up it to 350' and you are good to go! Thanks for this yummy breakfast treat!

Buttermilk Honey Wheat Bread

What a wonderful bread recipe! After I started adding the ingredients to my bread machine I realized I was out of whole wheat flour and ended up using plain bread machine four. Also I came up a tiny bit short on the buttermilk and added 1 1/2 tablespoons water to equal the correct amount. Even with all that the bread came out perfect! It's great for sandwiches too! Picky husband said "wow, this is good bread!" Thanks so much for the recipe!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

I used this sauce with some mini penne pasta by barilla and it was wonderful! I used fresh parmesean cheese I grated myself and had to add a little extra salt to the finished dish. I think maybe people think this is too salty because they used the parmesean in the green bottle from Kraft - good stuff on some things - but not for this recipe. My picky husband who doesn't like cream sauces even said it was pretty decent. I'm a vegetarain and love to indulge on cream sauces and thought this one was great.

Tangy Buttermilk Cheese Bread

I finally found a really tasty recipe on this site! This bread recipe worked perfectly in my not-too-fancy bread machine. I loved the dense texture and cheesy taste. This bread would be great with fresh tomato soup or - as my husband suggested - chili. Thanks for a great recipe!

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

This pie was very juicy, I had to drain a little when I took it out of the oven, but it didn't leak all over like others. I added some cornstarch but made the mistake of also adding flour and it did taste a little floury. Husband said it was bland. Don't think I'd make this again.

Crisp Oatmeal Cookies

I liked this oatmeal cookie recipe, but for some reason I needed to add an extra egg to the dough because it was too crumbly. I also sprinkled the tops of the cookies with cinnamon and sugar before baking. Picky hubby thought they were "okay" -- not sure if I would make again, but would definetly recommend the recipe.

Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies

These cookies had a nice texture but needed something to give them more flavor. I added a teaspoon vanilla and it still wasn't enough. These are great cookies for snack day at the preschool, but I wouldn't make them for home again, hubby did not like them! Thank you for the recipe though, I'm sure with enough small changes this would be a great cookie.
