Summer Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
The flavor was pretty good, but the recipe was confusing. I assume you would drain the veggies after boiling...but how much of the veggies do you use? My zukes are enormous right now...so saying use 4 chopped is misleading. Should it be 4 cups? Do you put the soup mixture over the top or should it all be completely mixed together and then put into the casserole dish. It might have tasted better if the ingredients and directions were more exact.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
This was very good. I used 2 cups of macaroni and didn't cover while baking. Next time I will use all sharp cheddar since that is the cheese we prefer in our mac and cheese. Melt the butter in a cup in the microwave and stir and blend in the flour, mustard and pepper...no lumps! Pour into your saucepan and continue with recipe. Easy and a keeper. Thanks!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
10 stars...if I closed my eyes I would have thought I was at an Italian Restaurant. This is restaurant quality. Easy to make and would SO impress dinner guests. I used 1/4 c butter, added tsp garlic, used 3/4 package of spaghetti noodles because that was what I had on hand and I wanted a lot of sauce, used frozen, uncooked shrimp...thawed and drained. My one son had thirds. This was perfection. Thanks - this goes into my repertoire of recipes.

Apple Crisp II

This was a WATERY, embarassing disaster. I usually make Apple Oatmeal Crisp from this site (so awesome). I wanted to try a recipe that served more for company at Thanksgiving. Sorry - I'll keep the Apple Oatmeal Crisp recipe.

Very easy to make, but we did not care for it. It wasn't awful, so I gave it a 3 - but just not to our liking. Thanks for sharing...

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
Very good - very easy. I served with rice. I skipped the meat browning part and dumped all in the crockpot. Also good with chicken (sans the beef cube). Thank you for an easy go to meal for a hectic day

Pork and Shrimp Pancit

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
All 5 in the family loved this. I used regular cabbage since the local grocer's bok choy didn't look so great. We all added soy sauce to our own individual serving...so I might add some as I cook it the next time. It is a definite keeper. Thanks!

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
We just did not like this...must be a matter of personal taste. I used a name brand dijon mustard and used a dried tarragon ($4 for the bottle - yikes!)and used only 1 tsp, but the flavor of the sauce was odd. Sorry to disagree with what is so obviously a winner to others. But - that is what is so nice about this site! We all get a say in our ratings. Thanks anyways.

We loved this. Not the healthiest, but very tasty. We happen to like Velveeta... Next time I will use less noodles and leave out the onion to save time, only. This is a keeper for my family - thanks!

Sausage Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This was very good and my kids loved it. It was easy to prepare and quick from prep to table. I always try to follow recipes to the letter the first time - but I didn't have loose sausage so I used cased sausage and cut into bite sized pieces and still it was good. This will go into the rotation. Thanks!!!

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
I used the Andes pieces as suggested by others. My son is a "Thin Mint" lover. I made these and asked him to try one without telling him what it was. "Wow!" he said "these taste like Thin Mints - how did you do that?" He took over making them. He uses: Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers and the Andes Creme de Menthe baking chips. Thanks for sharing!!!

This was a nice diversion from the typical "chicken divan" recipe I normally use. I doubled the sauce ingredients as recommended. It was tasty and the entire family liked it...a feat in itself!
