Thanksgiving Buttercream Cake
About this Cook
Mother of two who loves life! I work hard and play hard and have found a new love for running. Instead of having a book in my car just in case, I now have a pair of sneakers.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, casseroles, mexican food, appetizers, breakfast foods. Did I mention Desserts??
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday meals. A time when everyone came together to cook, and share food. Maybe even brag a little. Contests were usually added to motivate everyone to try their best. Pie's anyone?
My cooking triumphs
This happens every time I successfully make a meal for my family. My husband does most of the cooking. I've surrendered and now join him as a soux chef, chopping and assisting behind him. I triumph in the sweets I create from a basic cookie to a rich dessert.
My cooking tragedies
My son wanted a wizard hat cake for his 8 year old "crazy hat" party. The cake looked pretty cool but you'd never guess it was a wizard hat...but if anyone ever needs a volcano cake, I've got that covered!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
This was my first time attempting Chicken Cordon Blue with my husband’s help. We used Chicken stock instead of White Wine thanks to another reviewer. My tip would be to make sure you have a good brand of tooth picks on hand. We used a no name brand and they kept breaking, I'm sure that's a no brainer but we wanted to use what we had on hand and found out the hard way. Loved this, I will use it again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
I've made this recipe for many years. I like to add minced garlic and french onions to mix it up a bit. This also works very well with pork. The gravy is delicious!

Aaahh! Potato Soup
I had my doubts about this recipe. Boy was I wrong. Wow, it is that easy. I used Trader Joe's Au Gratin Cheese Potatoes mix. The smell was incredible. Like Raymond stated I needed a little extra water and I added a little extra cream because it simmered for awhile prior to eating. This is a keeper. Incredible! I also added cheddar cheese, chives and bacon as a topper.
