Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
I make a lot of recipes from this website and I have only given one other dish a five star rating. This one is my second. It absolutely deserves a five star rating. I made this recipe exactly as is and it is perfect. The longer it cooks, the flavors blend more. The next day it was even better. We served it with avocado wedges, sour cream, shreded co-jack cheese and the homemade tortilla strips. do not skimp on these. Some reviewers say to just buy the bagged but there is a huge difference. It is easy to make them yourself and they add a fresh taste.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
The best shrimp recipe I have ever tasted. When I order in restaurants I am disappointed compared to the taste of these. There are wonderful. Sometimes I add my butter because we love that buttery taste. I have also used them as an appetizer at parties. Believe me--they do not last long!!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
I am stingy with my five star ratings but this recipe deserves it. This is one of the best meat marinades. the whole family loves this. It is etremely flavorful but not overbearing.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
I made this using Crown Royal which is a high end Canadian whiskey so obviously, it was very good. I took two batches to Thanksgiving and it was gone within the hour. My husband didn't quite appreciate that I used the good whiskey so I will try next time with a different brand.

Chipotle Shrimp Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Wow--I rarely rate a recipe with five stars but this one was a pleasant surprise. I made the recipe exactly as is although I may have cut down on bacon by a third. I was very leary of using bacon in the recipe but it added a tremendous flavor. I used three peppers which I thought made it with some heat but did not over power them. I also used the cilantro and the lime as suggested which were a great addition. As an extra topping, I sliced avocados and had colby-jack cheese as a choice if my family wanted it.

Bacon Jack Chicken Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Such a simple meal and very good. Instead of bacon, I grilled some peppers and onions. I didn't have poultry seasoning so I used Emeril's seasoning which is similar. the pepper jack makes the dish!! a good bun and dinner tasted like you would get a restaurant.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
My family loved it. I used high quality blue cheese dressing but only about 3/4 cup. I also used crumbled blue cheese with the mozz. Buffalo wing sauce is also key to this recipe. Hot sauce would not be as good. Using the wing sauce, the butter is not necessary. (wing sauce is hot sauce and butter typically)

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
A very good quick and easy fish recipe for a worknight. I cut down a bit on the lemon juice but followed the recipe. I used orange roughy for the fish. Cooking time depends on the cut of fish so be careful. Will definitely make again.

Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
My husband and I love buffalo wing sauce so this was right up our alley!! It was good but not great. I think next time I will take other advice and use blue cheese crumbles to give it more zing. The provolone can be a bit blah.

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
Our family really enjoyed this and it was an easy meal. I made it with the all ingredients but added a little more lemon juice, used more bacon and used flavored feta because I happened to ahve that in the fridge. Instead of rolling them up, I basically set the feta and bacon on top of each breast, pulled up the sides, and fastened with toothpicks. I also had to cook it 45 minutes. I will definitely make this again.

Barbequed Ribs

Reviewed: May 29, 2003
I will continue to cook my ribs using this method because it really produced tender ribs. My only complaint is that the rub I made was very spicy. I love spicy foods but this was too spicy. It really depends on what type of chili powder you use. I will cut back on it next time.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2003
Was very tasty but a little salty. I will make again however because my three year old and husband loved it. I added extra bisquits to the slow cooker because my husband likes the dumplings the best.
