Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: May 1, 2004
Glad I made this cake before sharing it with others. I used a yellow cake mix with pudding already added. By adding the banana cream pudding also, I think it made the cake too heavy. It fell considerably after removing it from the oven. I cooked it the full time suggested, and then about 10 min. more, but will try a mix without pudding next time, and maybe it will not be so heavy, and mushy at the bottom. Has a wonderful flavor though. Worth trying again!

This is a great recipe! I added a little more parmasean cheese because we love it. And, I served sauce on the side for those that wanted a little bit more. Add salad and garlic bread and you have a very good and filling meal!

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
We made this recipe on Christmas Eve. After reading all of the suggestions, we used 1 1/2 pkgs. of cream cheese, 9 eggs, added a little bit of vanilla, and another handful of Blueberries. It was wonderful! When we started the syrup, we realized that we didn't have any cornstarch. But, I made a roux,(flour and butter) and added it to the sugar syrup mixture. It worked great. I added the same amount of butter at the end also. We had NO complaints, and had family fom 6 yrs. to 80! We served it with the cheesey Ham and Hash Brown Casserole. YUM!!!!!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
This was very easy to make ...and very good also! I used Granny Smith apples, and added another 1/4 C. of sugar. I was out of cinnamon, so I used several shakes of cinnamon sugar sprinkle for toast. We put it on top of hot buttered biscuits.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: May 17, 2006
I've made this several times. Everyone always loves it. It's a no fail recipe. I use the no-cook lasagna noodles, and sometimes add a little bit of ricotta cheese to the cottage cheese. Adding a chopped onion and some minced fresh garlic adds extra flavor also. I add extra spices to my sauce too. The recipe is wonderful on it's own. I just like to experiment!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2006
This marinade is outstanding! I've not had a steak this good in a 5 star resturant! We used 2) 2" thick tenderloin steaks. My husband is very picky, and I was worried he wouldn't care for these, but I was very wrong. I made a bernaise sauce to go on top, and it really complimented it nicely. I will be doing this marinade again....soon! Thought I might try it on a pork tenderloin too!

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
This is a great recipe!! I read the other hints, and followed some and added my own. I used 2 x-large Irish baking potatoes, and put them in a 7.5 X 9" pyrex dish. I think this helped them to cook a little bit faster, and more evenly. I also minced the fresh garlic into my cream mixture as suggested, layering with the 3 cheeses that she suggested.I baked it for 1 hour lightly covered(325 degrees), with "tented" foil. Added the ramono cheese and baked another hour, removing the foil the last 15-20 min. This recipe rivals any of the potato side dishes I've been served in several 4-5 star places!! Thanks for another keeper!!

Beer-Boiled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I followed Recipe till the end! Then, I tasted them before serving them. Blah....No flavor but butter! Not sure what I was expecting...but was hoping for more spunk. So, we added lots & Lots of fresh ground black pepper, and 2 TBL. of crushed garlic. A couple big shakes of chili powder, heated it up again to let the flavors get together. After an about/face...We all decided it was great! Wish we knew our measurements!!But at least we enjoyed the spicier flavor, and our bagette loved the spicy flavor as well!!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
These were wonderful!! I did as the recipe said, then mixed pecans into half of the batter. I dusted my pan with sweetened chocolate which gave them a chocolately crusty crunch.(like they needed more chocolate, ha)! They were almost gone before I could get them cooled down!! I've been asked for the recipe already, and also asked to keep this one handy, as I'll be asked to make these alot more often!!!!
