Bow Tie Tuna Florentine

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
It was okay. I did not like the tomatoes, perhaps red bell pepper would be better if you want the color. Definatly needed salt and pepper. Husband liked it, my one-yr old daughter loved it. Good weekday comfort food, but not for company.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
Excellent frosting! I used regular real vanilla (not clear) and it worked just fine. I put the leftovers in the fridge, and it seemed to get even better the following days. Thanks for the recipe!!

Jesse and Steve's Fresh Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2003
Wonderful cake! I've made this 2x for groups and am making it again this week for a birthday. It doesn't rise very much, at least for me, but it's very moist. My husband (not a "sweet" eater) loved it. Actually, several people have said it's their favorite. I topped it with fresh whipped cream, strawberries, and drizzled ganache over the berries. Yum!

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2003
Fabulous! Moist and very lemony! I added fresh lemon zest and omitted the glaze. Increased the lemon extract to 2 tsp and kept the vanilla at 1 1/2 tsp, per suggestions. Wonderful, thank you!!

Light & Tasty Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
Very good! I didn't know what browning sauce was so I used boxed brown gravy and it worked just fine. Whole family loved it for dinner and as leftovers for lunch - even my toddler!

Butterflied Curry Turkey Tenderloins

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
This was alright. Husband didn't like the lime and it was a little on the boring side. But it was nice to try something different.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2005
I've made this 3 times this month, changing it each time! 1st I made banana cream pie, then coconut cream pie, and tonight with the addition of instant expresso powder and a bag of semisweet chocolate chips - voila! mocha cream pie! Ooooh sinfully rich!! The fresh whipped cream topping makes it even more decadent!! YUM!! I love the flexibility of this recipe, each time it was delicious, many compliments each time. Note: Use a double boiler - much quicker.

Pecan Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Cream Cheese and Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
My family loved this dish, everyone including one 16 mos,and 3 1/2 yrs! Before I served it I said I wouldn't make it again - too time consuming, but sinced it went over so big, I guess I'll just have to plan ahead next time! I omitted the pimento (didn't have) and pecans in the filling (I didn't have enough). For the rest I didn't measure, just tossed it in and it turned out wonderfully.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
Excellent!! I've made these A LOT and shared the recipe. They are wonderful and as promised, are soft and chewy even the day after - they don't last longer than that in our house. :) The ONLY oatmeal choc chip recipe you need.

Giant Ding Dong Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
Well received, everyone loved it, although I felt I "cheated" by not making it from scratch! I gave it 4 stars because the filling was good, but fresh whipped cream is soooo much better. Overall a very good recipe and everyone raved. For those who think it took too long... try a scratch cake with buttercream and fondant sometime, or better yet, just stick with the bakery!!

Shrimp Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
Overall, my family thought the recipe was alright, not exciting. But the rice and sauce were outstanding, and good to keep and use again. In fact, we kept the leftovers and mixed them with ground turkey and sausage to make enchiladas - the additions made them the best ever. We also mixed in some sour cream and chicken broth with the refried beans, makes it creamier. To increase the "wow" factor for the recipe as is, it might benefit from battered cod instead of shrimp, and turn them into tacos with some shredded cabbage or iceberg. Thanks for the recipe!

Crispy Baked Basa

My family loved this recipe, I'll definately make it again. I didn't have any stone ground mustard, so I used regular, and I skipped the hot sauce because our kids are small. It was great! Thanks for the recipe!!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
My first success with pork chops, woo hoo! I used the thin ones, so I baked it for only 30 minutes and they were still tender and moist. My husband absolutely raved about them and ate the leftovers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - a first for him, too! Definately will be added to our recipe rotation. Thanks for the great recipe!

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: May 30, 2007
Whole family gobbled it up - which rarely happens at my house. I used ground turkey and turkey sausage, 1 jar spagetti sauce plus 1 can tomato sauce, added basil, s & p, onion & garlic, mixed the mozzarella and pepperoni in and then topped it off with more mozzarella and pepperoni. Husband said he likes it better than lasagne! Easy dish and what a hit! Thanks!
