Hello, AR friends! I've been away for what seems like FOREVER, but I'm always blogging in my head. Sorry you can't read those blogs, they're pretty funny and often inappropriate; I think you would like them ;). I'm going to sit down and try to get this
one down though,…

Uh, well, I guess I would have to blame the baby! Here she is, our little Graciela Theresa. Graci was born early, but weighed in at a healthy 6 lbs, 8 oz. I had every intention of starting the challenge on January 1, but I really don't know what I was
thinking. Who knew taking care of 4…

So now be honest; have you ever been in line at the grocery store, and you realize that the lady in front of you has a three inch stack of coupons, and is watching each and every item price as it runs across the scanner? Have you ever thought to yourself
, "Oh (fill in the blank), I'm…

I have a confession to make--I'm a terrible impulse shopper. For someone who is such a cheapskate this is not a good trait to have. I have a weakness for kitchen things of course; cookbooks and cookware are the worst. If it's pretty, I'm a goner. I
did manage to rein it in before I bought…

Fa la la la la....
Okay, but seriously though, the holidays have officially started. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the amazing deals at the grocery store. Frozen turkey, ham, all sorts of baking ingredients; you name it, it's on sale. This is the time
of year that I l

Lesson #1.) It's a lot more fun finding the killer deals than trying to use them up. I am officially bored with cleaning out the pantry, and realized that no matter how cheap it is, I don't need 20 lbs of white rice; I don't even cook with white rice.
Lesson #2.) It's so much fun to try ne

Well, sort of, anyway. I didn't buy 80 lbs of flour this week. I did buy 5 containers of Quaker Oats, but they were on sale from $4.99 per container to $1.57. It's the holidays, people, and those cowboy cookies and carmelitas aren't going to make themselves!
I stayed out of the grocery…

Yes, this blog is a bit of a departure for me; but bear with me because I'm feeling thoughtful this evening. It's getting late, the whole house is asleep, and I was cleaning the kitchen enjoying the silence when I started thinking about the joys of living
a simple life. What does living…

Well, it wasn't an epic failure, but apparently either I haven't hit rock bottom, or I'm being enabled by outside influences. In either case, I plead "victim". My attempt to use up some of our stored food actually went okay; I'm able to open and close
the freezer door without an…

Hey, bloggees, long time not see! I don't know how it happened, but it seems that the pantry and freezer are back to overflowing. My poor husband won't even venture into the freezer to get ice for his drinks, just hands me his glass and asks me to get
it for him. His hyper-organized brain…
