About this Cook
Married into a restaurant family so my husband is a great cook! I love to cook, too, so we have cooking spats. he does the simple, basic meals, I do the special, creative cooking. I do all desserts and breads, appetizers.
My favorite things to cook
Cinnamon swirl bread, appetizers, Christmas coffee cakes, most anything chicken or shrimp. Mom's old recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Catering a cocktail party for 50+ guests (this was a contribution to a charity event and garnered the charity $300!) Fun to do, too.
My cooking tragedies
When my bread machine died, and instead of making a dough to turn into rolls, it made a dense, inedible loaf of bread. Nasty!

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork
Found this recipe a few weeks ago, and decided to use it as the 'test' for the slow cooker my husband bought at least 8 years ago! The only change I made to the recipe was to add some liquid smoke -- and the resultant sandwiches were excellent. Was so thrilled with the performance of the slow cooker that the next week I made a slow cooker ranch chicken recipe from this site -- really yummy too!

Crabbies
I've loved this recipe for years -- great make-ahead appetizer. However, I add some green onion and some finely minced celery, as well as a dash of garlic powder.
