Smokey Chipotle Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
I followed recipe as written. I think the flavor was very good but not for a meatloaf. I will take the recipe and make hamburgers and grill them topping with swiss or provolone cheese next time.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
I love soup. I really loved this soup. My husband does not love close to not even liking soup. My husband loved this soup. It is flavorful with layers of texture. I did not have sherry so I used beer instead. I definitely will double and freeze next time.

Maple Pecan Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
These are delicious. Very simple. I think they are better the longer you let them set up. The only thing I changed is using Aunt Jemima. Love pure syrup and I am sure the purity would be excellent flavor but all I have right now is Aunt Jemima. Ugh but don't want to waste it so I am using it. I did not add the maple extract maybe the fake syrup already has the additive? Making another 2 batches today!

Bacon and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2013
I used the dressing and omitted the eggs, olives and cucumbers. these would have been good in the salad but I made other sides that had eggs and cucumbers so did not want same ingredients. Served at a graduation party and everyone loved it. Should have doubled the recipe!

No Fail Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
Used this recipe for a chicken pot pie this afternoon and it was very flaky. The color was rich and layered; not flat. I should have added a little more salt as one reviewer did but I try really hard not to use salt if my pie has been salted. Also, I had to add a tbls more water to get the ball formation. Easy to shape and roll out. A beautiful crust with great texture. I am going to use this again for a cherry pie and see how it goes with fruit.

Meatball and Pasta Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
husband gives it 5 stars. I crushed ceasar croutons for bread crumbs. I also baked the meatballs at 350 for 30 minutes before putting in red sauce. If you bake rotate balls 15 minutes. I did not make the soup.

Mandi's Cheesy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
I took this recipe as my base and made several changes. I made a rue with the steak seasoning, flour, milk, added pepper. I took half the soup stock and put in blender to puree then added back to stock with remaining potato chunked stock. Then added the rue and cheese. This was very yummy. I then divided the soup and in another pot with half the soup i added brocolli. This was soooo yummy. Great base recipe. Thank you. 5 star on base and 5+ on changes.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
These are wonderful. I agree with other reviews: it is important to moisten the dry ingredients and not mix or stir to keep the batter light.
