Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Only giving this a 4 because Changed it signigicantly. I use pork and beef, escorole and spinache, added fresh garlic and onion to the broth and a few other things to taste. I also used Pastina pasta because they will not swell like the orzo pasta. Don't be afraid NOT to follow the recipe to a T. Taste as you go and add what you like as needed.

Italian Bread Wedges

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummy as is. Or....... I love the crust so much I use it for my pizza. I toss the ingredience in my bread machine. I use olive oil instead of canola, and use half cup beer and half cup water instead of 1 cup water. I use bread flour instead of all purpose. Cook my crust on cookie sheet for 8 to 10 mins .. take out then add my toppings sauce cheese etc....... Cook DIRECTLY ON OVEN RACK for another 8 to 10 mins, YUM one killer sicilian pizza.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
I did not like at all. I don't know what happened here.... I'm sticking to my old recipe. I use the dough form the Italian Bread Wedges from this site. I sub canola oil and use olive oil instead. I did take the beer idea and use half cup beer with half cup water. Put in my bread machine. After machine done spred out on my slightly greesed cookie sheet bake for about 8 to 10 mins. Not quite golden brown but almost. Took out, put on my toppings, put directly on oven rack for another 8 to 10 mins,,,, better than your local pizza shop. Yum.

Orange Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
OH MY! IS THIS YUMMY! Of course as usual I made a few changes. I used 2 11oz cans mandarin oranges, 3 kiwi cut into nice sized chunks, 3tbls orange juice, 2 table spoons pineapple juice (from the tidbits), miracle whip instead of mayo, and added 1 tbls white sugar. I also purchased the already cooked and seasoned cube chicken from my local store. You've gotta try this. YUMMMMMMMMMY! Perfect on hot days.

Pierogi Dough

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
This was good, but not what I was looking for. I wanted something that really had that good homemade taste. This wasn't it for me, a little more pasta like than pierogi if that makes sense. Anyway I found the dough I was looking for here. It's called Pierogi (Polish Dumplings). I didn't try the fillings I used my own, but the dough was exactly what I was looking for. So if you don't like this dough try that one.

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
Gave this 5 stars for the dough. Used my own filling. This dough was exactly what I was looking for. Let the dough sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rolling. I use my pasta machine to roll out the dough. I use a wide rim glass or mug to cut out pierogi. SOOOOOO GOOD.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I only gave this 4 stars because it's a good start. I like more stuff in mine. I added celery, carrots and onion. I use the cream of chicken with garlic and herbs soup, and add some poultry seasoning. Use chicken broth instead of water. I also bake mine in a large oval dutch oven to fit more biscuts. Bake at 350 til bubbling well, then add the biscuts bake with lid on til they are done. Sometimes when I have the time or we are not ready to eat right away I will cook at 300 for a few hours, then add biscuts.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! This is one of my favorite things to eat. A must try. Of course I added more garlic (garlic lover). I also use canned diced tomatoes (in winter) usually of the seasoned variety. Whatever I have on hand works. If I could give it 6 stars I definately would. LOVE this soup. Thanks for the recipe.

Not bad. But here is a way to make them 5 stars. NO FLOUR. Use 3 cans cream of chicken soup. One sweet onion diced, about 1/2 cup milk, and here is the key. LONG HORN CHEESE> Mix all well and bake.

Yeah Blah is right. Try this... Use 3 cans cream of chicken soup. 1/4 cup milk. One sweet onion. And hears the secret... LONG HORN CHEESE. Mix all well with potatoes, put a few slices of butter on top and bake. If you like add some long horn on top for last 15 mins or so, and bake uncovered. It is delicious, I promise.

City Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
This recipe is a good start but of course I had to tweek it just a bit. I added garlic powder and italian seasoning to the flower mix. To the chicken broth I added a packet of beefy chiken soup mix along with the bay leaf. I let it simmer hours. Then I poured the sauce over egg noodles. Absolutely delish!!!
