I've been cooking pretty much since I was 5 for myself and my sisters. The first thing I ever tried to make were scrambled eggs on the stove top using a plastic butter container.....which as you could imagine made an incredible mess. Ever since anytime my grandmother was in the kitchen, I was usually there beside her sitting on the top step of one of those metal 3 tier step stools.....apron on and mixing spoon in hand.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking in general, but some of my favorites (as they are everyone else's favorites to eat) would be my famous lasagna, green chile chicken enchiladas, shepherd's pie, baked chicken cordon bleu, and texas style chili and corn bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies and candied pop corn the week before Christmas with my Grandmother, as well as sausage/crescent rolls and green chile breakfast casserole every holiday morning.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I make something and see the smile on people's faces is a triumph. I fell in love with making food that tastes good and in turn makes my guests happy.
My cooking tragedies
I once botched an entire batch of box brownies because I put too much oil in the batter. Last time I listen to tips on the internet on how to make boxed brownies chewie!
