Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
We had this for Easter. I doubled the recipe and baked it in a 9x13 pan. I also carmelized the onions instead of placing them in uncooked. Everyone really loved this dish, especially with the addition of the carmelized onions.

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
This was a huge hit. I made it for my mom for Christmas and she LOVED it. I couldn't believe how professional it ended up looking. No crumbling, no sticky dough. Actually it all came together really well and easy! Thanks for the recipe.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
DELICIOUS!!! My mom must have said four different times while eating the cake, "this is just such good cake." It has an incredible flavor; I did 2 tsp of vanilla and used reduced fat cream cheese. This is a winner!!!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
These turned out great. They were slightly flatter than I thought they would be, but chewy and super tasty! I did do the refrigeration trick for about an hour prior to baking. We love these!

Really tasty! I got rave reviews at Christmas dinner with this. I did add extra of both types of cheeses, but not too much.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
So, so yummy. After making the first 12 of them, I did put in an extra 1/4-1/2 cup of flour because they were a little too thin for my preference. I also slightly increased the spices. The taste is amazing....perfect for fall!!

This was really, really good. I will definitely make it again, probably for Thanksgiving.....perfect texture. I used ginger snaps instead of the graham crackers. Great recipe!!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
I have always heard about this recipe, but never tried it, until today for the 4th! I love it!! I didn't put nuts in the batter, but just sprinked them under the caramel on half. I lined the baking pan with foil and greased it really good with margarine, and had no problems with sticking. They cut and came out beautifully. They are so delicious and really don't taste like cake mix at all, for those that dislike that flavor. We loved them!!

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
This is so, so good! I served it at Easter lunch, which doubled as a bday party, and it was a hit. I added coconut extract (1 tsp) to the cake batter, and only slightly scaled back on the sweetened condensed milk. Instead of using Cool Whip, I whipped my own cream and added some vanilla and sugar to it. This was such a good coconut cake....thanks!

Wake-Up Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is pretty good. My family thought there was not enough eggs in it, so maybe would put more next time, but I love the hash browns in it. I though they might be soggy, but they were actually my favorite part. I only put two cups of cheese and it was plenty for us. Thanks!

Marbled Almond Roca

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is the best. The only thing I did differently is chopped the almonds and then threw them in the pot at the last second before pouring out onto pan. This is delicious!! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
These were really good. I see why they tell you to put crumbs in plate. I tried to expedite things and do the shake-in-a-bag, and ended up with a lot of stuck-together crumbs at the end, but the rings that did get crumbs were terrific. Also, I baked them at 350 and flipped after 10 minutes and then left in another 15 minutes or so. My husband LOVED them. I will try the Panko next time. :)

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I made these one week ago wtih spare ribs as called for in the recipe, and they were really good, but didn't love the spare rib part of it. I made them again this weekend with baby back ribs and they were amazing!!! I may have used slightly less rum due to quantity on hand, and I did use Denise's dry rub on this site before baking, but everything else just as called for in recipe. They taste like they were professionally cooked at a restaurant. My new favorite rib recipe!!

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I had a frosting disaster yesterday when I tried to make seven-minute frosting that is cooked....big mistake. I needed something quick to save my husband's coconut bday cake, and this was the one. Instead of vanilla, I used coconut extract. I was even out of butter and used margarine and it was perfect!!! Love the consistency. I doubled the recipe and frosted the top and sides only of a nine-inch cake and had a little leftover. Yum!!!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I have been baking this bread for a couple of years, but never reviewed it. It is delicious! I substitute half of the oil with applesauce, and it is very moist. I also use 2 cups of brown sugar and 1 cup of white, but will probably try cutting out some of the sugar next time. I always make mini loaves and give them as holiday gifts; this time I added chocolate chips in some loaves and pecans and dried cherries in some loaves. You can't go wrong with this recpie.

Pumpkin Spice Cake II

Yummy!!! I also did 1/2 cup oil, extra cinnamon (1/2 tsp), used egg substitute and only used about 1 cup of pumpkin. It is so good, spicy and light. Definitely will make for Thanksgiving.
