About this Cook
I'm a recent vegetarian, and lover of almost all baked goods. My mom is the Queen of Cupcakes, so I've learned a lot watching her. I like to make everything as fresh as possible. If I can make it myself instead of buying it, then I'll be happy!
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, and anything baked. I'm also really getting into cooking with tofu, since its so versatile and can be used in almost anything, including desserts! I am really interested in learning to cook authentic Mexican food, like tortillas, and tamales. Living in AZ got me used to really good quality, AUTHENTIC Mexican!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents always make a lot of food for holidays, and my mom bakes something almost every week! Its given me lots of ideas!
My cooking triumphs
Tiramisu! There are so many steps, and lots of ingredients, but its important to take your time and use quality ingredients to get that authentic Italian taste. Now, I've made it multiple times and its a favorite in my family!
My cooking tragedies
I'm not good at making things up as I go. I need a recipe, or atleast an idea of what I'm going for, or we will probably be going out for dinner!

Hot and Sour Chicken Soup
We did a few adjustments and LOVED it! We used a package of Extra Firm Tofu instead of chicken to make it more like our local Chinese restaurant. We also added Sriracha to it at the table to make it a bit spicier. We will definitely make this again!

Puppy Chow
I like this recipe, and its pretty easy to make. I just wish the instructions would have mentioned that 9 cups of this cereal is really about one 12.8 oz box. That would have saved me some confusion, and some money since I bought 2 boxes. I made this exactly as directed, using chunky peanut butter as mentioned in a comment. I also added some mini M&Ms to add some color because it looked a little boring.

Greek Tzatziki
I just made this dip, and it was really easy. I used half a container (32oz) Greek yogurt in case it didn't turn out well, so I wouldn't have a lot of waste. Then I added 2 small Persian cucumbers (what I had on hand). I reduced the lemon juice, dill, garlic and salt since I was only making half. I also skipped the olive oil. I didn't see what the point of adding it was, because it was smooth and creamy already and I didn't want to add the extra fat. I only gave 4 stars because I made so many alterations. It was so easy to make, I'm sure I'll be making it often!
