Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
3 ripe bananas was not enough, I recommend 4. Added a tsp of pumpkin pie spice based on other reviews to add some flavour and it was wonderful. The pecans worked perfectly except next time I would simply add pecans into the batter and use the sugar/nut mix on top. Will make again!

Napoleon's Banana Muffin

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
LOVE these muffins! They are sweet but I didn't find them too sweet at all. I'm also lazy and just sprinkled cropped almonds on top instead of the suggested topping so that may have reduced the over all sweetness. I get requests for them all the time!

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
I diced my strawberries well and added over double the suggested amount. Turned out beautifully! It also froze great and became a staple in my family's lunch bags for weeks.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
This recipe worked great - I followed it to the letter. I sprinkled some coarse sugar on top before baking and I was very pleased with the results. Very fruity and moist!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
This crust tok me a couple tries to get perfect, although after reading the tips and tricks I realized where I was going wrong. Once I got that figured out I was off to the races! I do find it makes a bit more than one 9" double crust pie. It makes almost 3 crusts total. I simply freeze my remainders. This crust does not do well over worked or over floured. It has a slight hint of sweet and my taste testers describe it as vaguely short-bread-like in it's taste. I halve the sugar when using for my meat pies. I've tried other crusts on this site but this one still stands out as the best for me!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2011
I am a novice baker, slowly working my way towards intermediate. This recipe completely knocked my socks off! Depite all the different suggestions I followed the recipe as originaly posted and it was PERFECT. There is nothing ordinary about this pie. It was super easy to make (I use the French Pastry Pie Crust as my standard crust). I get requests for it at every family gathering. No one who has tried this pie - I think I've made 6 now - will stop raving about it. Follow this recipe to the letter and you will absolutely love the results!
