Black Russian Cake I

I made this for a party and everyone absolutely raved about it! A few people even begged for the recipe! I used water instead of the vodka because I had no vodka. I also used the glaze provided earlier in the reviews rather than the one in the recipe. Turned out wonderful! Thanks so much!

Kielbasa and Potato Bake

The flavor in this dish was excellent! I used cheddar soup and added a dash of cayenne pepper and onion salt in addition to the spices that were called for. Yum!! The only problem was that mine came out pretty soupy. I am not sure what the cause of this was. I'd welcome suggestions! Maybe next time I will cut down on the milk a little bit. Overall I would highly recommend this dish, though!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

I'm not a huge fan of snickerdoodles, but my dad loves them so I made them for him. He (as well as everyone else who tried them) gave them two thumbs up! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great! I found that 9 minutes was the perfect amount of time in the oven to keep them super soft.

Chocolate Chip Peppermint Cookies

Good flavor, but I had the same problem with them turning out too crunchy. I did up the flour to about 2 cups, but it didn't seem to help. Unfortunately I'm such a novice cook that I don't know how to remedy the problem!! If someone knew how to alter the recipe in order to make them chewier I would make them again...

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Yummy! I took this to a barbeque and everybody loved it! It was so simple to make, it only took a few minutes! I only had cinnamon graham crackers on hand, but they worked out just fine. This is great because it's mostly ingredients that you have somewhere in your cupboards anyway!

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Yum!! I made this to follow an Italian dinner awhile ago. So good! It's incredibly rich, so I could only handle a small piece. But it's definetly worth the effort!

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

I used it on chicken breasts and put them in a taco salad. I found that the flavor got lost. Would have been better, or at least the flavor would have been more noticeable had a served it alone.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Yummy!! I left out the onion and green pepper because I don't like them and instead added some diced jalepenos. Spicy and tasty!! I only had tomatoe paste so I just watered it down and it worked out just fine. I got rave reviews from my family!! Would make this one again!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Sooooo good!! I left out the green onions because I don't like them, and like some other reviewers I substituted cream of chicken soup. My brother looked at them very warily because of the green chilis, but the whole family ended up loving them!! I would definitely recommend these!!

Cookie in a Jar

Very yummy cookie! I got many compliments on them. If I made them in a jar again I put half the flour, then the brown sugar, then the other half of the flour to make the layers look a little more vivid.

Skin-on Savory Mashed Potatoes

We really enjoyed these! Creamy texture, rather than the fluffiness I usually associate with mashed potatoes. I love potatoe skin, though, and it's so nutritious! I have also tried baking the potatoes for an hour and then mashing them. Also turns out well! Thumbs up!

Southwest Chicken

California Bean Dip

So good! It does look a little funny, but once you get past that you won't be able to get enough! I used one can of pinto beans and one can of black, and a 15.25 oz can of mixed white and golden corn. I also used half jalapeno ranch, half regular ranch. And added a pinch of ground red pepper. Yummy! I will definetly make this again!!

Chicken Chimi in the Oven

Way too saucy (even though I accidently left out the water) and sweet for my tastes, but my family said they enjoyed them. If I make them again I will cut back on the salsa and either cut back drastically or completely omit the cinnamon, which ended up being pretty overpowering. Any ideas about why it turned out so sweet and how to fix it??

Baking Powder Biscuits I

Interesting texture, more like a bread than a traditional biscuit. I only gave it a 3 because they were pretty bland. I like my biscuits to be a bit saltier than what they turned out. If I make them again I will definetly increase the salt or add some garlic salt to liven them up.

Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole

Came out a little bit bland, but overall a good use of leftovers. I used italian bread crumbs for the topping because I didn't have any stuffing mix. I wish I would've used the butter cracker ideas instead. I think it would've been better if I would've added some sort of spice to the mashed potatoes because they kind of dominated the casserole. I'm a really inexperienced cook, however, so I don't know what the best way to doctor them up would be...
